ABSTRACT: In the polymeric title copper(II) compound, [Cu(CHO(2))(2)(C(8)H(6)N(2))](n), both formato ligands are O-bidentate anions and act as bridging ligands, creating a planar polymeric arrangement. The slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination around Cu(II) comprises four O atoms from two different formate anions as the base and a quinoxaline mol-ecule in the apical position.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Fe(CHO(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·4H(2)O}(n), the Fe(II) ion is coordinated by two 4,4'-bipyridyl (4,4'-bpy) ligands, three formate ligands and one water molecule. The slightly distorted octahedral FeN(2)O(4) coordination results from the N atoms of two bridging 4,4'-bpy ligands, the O atoms of two bridging HCOO(-) anions of anti-anti mode, all in trans positions around the metal centre, and the O atoms of one terminal HCOO(-) anion and of one water molecule. The bridging formate ligands link the metal ions into chains that are further connected via 4,4'-bpy ligands into a framework structure. The three-dimensional structure is stabilized by extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. The crystals were twinned containing a 0.84:0.16 racemate.

The chains contain six-coordinate Mn(II) ions bridged by formate anions. They are further extended into a three-dimensional network via O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and inter-chain π-π stacking inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.679 (4) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CHO(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]CHO(2)·6H(2)O, the Cu atom is coordinated in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal fashion by an O atom of the formate ligand and four N atoms of two phenanthroline ligands with Cu-O and Cu-N distances of 2.020 (3) and 1.978 (3)-2.177 (3) Å, respectively. Hydrogen bonding O-H⋯O between water molecules and between water anions as well as π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances between phen rings = 3.38 (7) and 3.40 (5) Å] are responsible for the supra-molecular assembly.

The Cu(II) atom lies on a center of inversion.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(HCO(2))(C(7)H(8)N(4))(2)]ClO(4), the Cu(II) ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by one bidentate formate ion and two bidentate bis-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methane ligands. Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), square-pyramidally coordinated Cu(II) ions are linked into [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)](n) coordination polymer chains by isophthalate dianions. These chains are connected into undulating [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)(3-bpmp)](n) [3-bmp is bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine] layers by 3-bpmp tethering ligands. The pseudo three-dimensional structure of the title compound is fostered by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and unligated isophthalate O atoms. The selected crystal was non-merohedrally twinned. Only reflections from the major twin component were used in the solution and refinement.
