ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Pd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), the Pd atom is tetra-coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (bdc) dianions and two N atoms from two benzimidazole ligands, resulting in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral PdO(2)N(2) geometry. The bdc ligand acts as a bridge, linking the Pd atoms into a chain. Inter-chain N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal structure.

The Cu(II) and water O atoms lie on a twofold rotation axis, and the benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligand lies on an inversion center. The water O atom occupies the apical position and the basal plane is occupied by two O atoms and two N atoms. Each benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anion acts as a bis-monodentate ligand that binds two Cu(II) cations, forming an infinite chain extending parallel to [001]. The N(6)-benzyl-adenine ligands are attached on both sides of the chain. Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(12)H(6)O(4))(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (naph) dianions, two imidazole mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Cu-O bond distance in the apical direction is 0.509 (3) Å longer than the mean Cu-O bond distance in the basal plane. The naph dianion bridges two Cu(II) cations, forming a one-dimensional polymeric chain. The coordinated water mol-ecule is hydrogen-bonded to the carboxylate groups and imidazole ligands of adjacent polymeric chains, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. No π-π stacking is observed in the crystal structure. One solvent water molecule is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the polymeric title complex, {[Mn(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) cation is coordinated by two benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one benzimidazole ligand and two water mol-ecules in a distorted MnNO(5) octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, each benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anion bridges adjacent Mn(II) cations through the terminal carboxyl-ate groups, forming a polymeric complex chain along the a axis. One Mn-O(carboxyl-ate) bond is much longer than the others. In the crystal, π-π stacking is observed between nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 4.32 (6)°] benzimidazole aromatic ring systems of adjacent mol-ecules, the centroid-centroid distance between the imidazole and benzene rings being 3.5421 (11) Å. Extensive inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure. The two lattice water mol-ecules are located on twofold rotation axes.

Project description:A new cadmium(II) coordination polymer, {[Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·0.5C(8)H(6)O(4)}(n), has been synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit contains one Cd(II) atom, one benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anion, one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one coordinated water mol-ecule and half of an uncoordinated benzene-1,4-dicaboxylic acid solvent mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom is in the centre of a monocapped distorted octa-hedron made up of four O atoms of two chelating benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one water O atom and two 1,10-phenanthroline N atoms. The metal centres are connected via bis-chelating benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anions into a zigzag chain structure along [001]. These chains are further connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and adjacent carboxyl-ate O atoms. Additional O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the uncoordinated benzene-1,4-dicaboxylic acid mol-ecules along [010] consolidates the structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(9)H(4)O(6))(H(2)O)(3)](n), the Ni(II) ion has a distorted NiO(5) square-pyramidal geometry, the maximum deviation from the least-squares plane formed by the basal atoms being 0.9351 (13) Å. The basal plane is formed by two O atoms from carboxyl-ate residues of the 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and by two O atoms from water mol-ecules. The O atom of the third water mol-ecule is axially positioned, 1.7890 (19) Å perpendicular to the basal plane. The 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligand bridges the metal atoms, forming a polymeric chain along the b axis. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups stabilize the crystal structure.

Each BDC-F(4) anion bridges two Cu(II) ions in a bis-monodentate fashion, forming a [Cu(BDC-F(4))](n) chain. These chains are further linked by bridging 1,4-dioxane ligands, generating a two-dimensional net with approximately recta-ngular grids of 11.253 × 7.654 Å. Such adjacent parallel layers are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between guest water mol-ecules and the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms and coordinated water mol-ecules into the final three-dimensional supra-molecular network.
