Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(2)Cl(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(4)]Cl(2), consists of binuclear centrosymmetric [Cd(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(4)Cl(2)](2+) cations and discrete chloride anions. The Cd(II) cation is coordinated by four N atoms of two ethyl-enediamine ligands and two symmetry-related chloride anions within a distorted CdN(4)Cl(2) octa-hedron. Two Cd(II) cations are connected by two chloride anions via μ(2)-coordination, forming a four-membered Cd(2)Cl(2) ring. The uncoordinated chloride anions are linked to the amino groups via N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding. Two C atoms of one of the two crystallographically independent ethyl-enediamine ligands are disordered and were refined using a split model [occupancy ratio 0.674 (9):0.326 (9)].

Project description:In the title mononuclear copper(II) compound, [Cu(C(2)O(4))(C(4)H(12)N(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a slightly distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with a tridentate N-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)ethyl-enediamine (HydEt-en) and a bidentate oxalate (ox) ligand. The N atoms of the HydEt-en ligand and the O atoms of ox ligand form the basal plane, while the O atom of the ethanol group of the HydEt-en ligand is located in the axial position. The complex mol-ecules participate in a supra-molecular assembly through N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between HydEt-en and ox ligands.

Tris(ethyl-enediamine)cobalt(II) sulfate.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Co(II)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)]SO(4), the cobalt example of [M(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)]SO(4), is reported. The Co and S atoms are located at the 2d and 2c Wyckoff sites (point symmetry 32), respectively. The Co atom is coordinated by six N atoms of three chelating ethyl-enediamine mol-ecules generated from half of the ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The O atoms of the sulfate anion are disordered mostly over two crystallographic sites. The third disorder site of O (site symmetry 3) has a site occupancy approaching zero. The H atoms of the ethyl-enediamine mol-ecules inter-act with the sulfate anions via inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)]SO(4), the metal atom (site symmetry 3.2) is coordinated by six N atoms from three ethyl-enediamine (en) ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The en ligands are generated from one half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The O atoms of the sulfate anion (S site symmetry 3.2) are disordered over four orientations in a 0.220 (12):0.210 (13):0.203 (14):0.10 (2) ratio, with one of the O atoms having site symmetry 3. In the crystal, the ions are connected by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The dinuclear mol-ecule of the title compound, [Cd(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, lies on an inversion centre and forms 12-membered (CdNC(3)O)(2) metallacycles with the two Cd(2+) ions bridged by two nicotinate ligands. Both Cd(2+) ions display coordination polyhedra with a distorted octa-hedral geometry that includes two pyridine N atoms from bridging and terminal nicotinate anions, two amine N atoms from chelating ethylene-diamine ligands, carboxylate O atoms from bridging nicotinate anions and water O atoms. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of a three-dimensional network, and π-π stacking inter-actions are observed between symmetry-related pyridine rings of bridging as well as terminal nicotinate anions (the centroid-centroid distances are 3.59 and 3.69 Å, respectively, and the distances between parallel planes of the stacked pyridine rings are 3.53 and 3.43 Å, respectively). The two methylene groups of the ethylene-diamine ligand are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.8 and 0.2.

In the anion, the In(III) atom is coordin-ated by four O atoms from two oxalato ligands and two O atoms from two formato ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form an extensive hydrogen-bonding network, which link the cations, anions and water mol-ecules into three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](SiF(6)), was synthesized ionothermally using choline chloride-imidazolidone as solvent and template provider. In the crystal structure, the anions and cations are located on special positions of site symmetry 3.2 and show a typical octa-hedral geometry. The Zn(II) ion is coordinated by six N atoms from three ethyl-enediamine mol-ecules. The crystal structure displays weak hydrogen bonding between [SiF(6)](2-) anions and the ethyl-enediamine NH hydrogen atoms.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(SO(4))(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), the Cu, S and two O atoms lie on a mirror plane. The Cu atom is in a distorted octa-hedral environment and the ethyl-enediamine ligand is in a gauche conformation. The sulfate dianion is bridging, forming a one-dimensional chain. A two-dimensional net parallel to (001) is generated by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the chains.
