Project description:In the title compound, C(11)H(13)NO(3), the pyrrolidin-2-one ring is in an envelope conformation with the hydroxyl and 4-methoxy-phenyl substituents mutually cis. The methoxy group is slighty twisted away from the mean plane of the attached benzene ring. The mol-ecules are arranged into screw chains along the c axis. These chains are inter-connected via inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds into sheets parallel to the ac plane. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(17)NO(4), was isolated from an ethanol extract of Ophiopogon japonicus. The dihedral angle between the 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl ring and the pyrrolidine ring is 17.4 (1)°. The 4-hydroxyphenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 69.74 (6)° with the least-squares plane through the 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl ring and the pyrrolidine ring. The conformation of the pyrrolidine fragment is similar to a T-form. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:Metoprolol, a widely used adrenoreceptor blocking drug, is commonly administered as the succinate or tartrate salt. The structure of metoprolol succinate, C(15)H(26)NO(3) (+)·0.5C(4)H(4)O(4) (2-), is characterized by the presence of ribbons in which cations, generated by N-protonation of the metoprolol mol-ecules, are hydrogen bonded to succinate anions. The dicarboxylic acid transfers its H atoms to two metoprolol mol-ecules; the asymmetric unit contains one cation and half an anion, the latter possessing twofold rotational symmetry. There are localized nets of O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds along a ribbon, within centrosymmetric arrangements formed by pairs of metoprolol cations and pairs of anions, each of the latter contributing with one of its carboxyl groups to the localized net. This arrangement is repeated along the ribbon by the operation of the twofold axis bis-ecting the anion, as well as by the lattice translation.

Project description:The title Schiff base compound, C22H19NO2S, crystallized with two independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. Both mol-ecules have an E conformation about the C=N bond. The two mol-ecules differ in the orientation of the aromatic rings with respect to each other. The outer 4-meth-oxy-benzene ring is inclined to the central benzene ring and the outer 4-acetyl-benzene ring by 1.80 (19) and 63.73 (19)°, respectively, in mol-ecule A, and by 6.72 (18) and 68.53 (19)°, respectively, in mol-ecule B. The two outer benzene rings are inclined to one another by 63.77 (18) and 63.19 (18)° in mol-ecules A and B, respectively. In the crystal, the individual mol-ecules stack in columns along [010], and are linked by a number of C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming slabs lying parallel to (001).

In the crystal, mol-ecules form infinite chains along the b axis by way of inter-molecular O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O inter-actions. Weak C-H⋯π also contribute to the stabilization of the crystal structure.
