Project description:Rhodojaponin III is a grayanane-type diterpenoid natural product with a novel chemical scaffold. It shows potent antinociceptive activity and may represent a new class of natural non-opioid analgesics with a novel mode of action. We explored the Au(I)-catalyzed Conia-ene cyclization and the Mn(III)-mediated radical cyclization of alkynyl ketones for the synthesis of the bicyclo[3.2.1]octane fragment of rhodojaponin III. These strategies will be applicable in the synthesis of rhodojaponin III and analogs for future biological studies.

The reported synthetic route uses nortropane-8-carbonyl chlorides as key intermediates that, when treated with a slight excess of amine, give the corresponding ureas in high yield (129 examples).

Project description:We report herein a highly efficient strategy for construction of a bridged oxa-[3.2.1]octane-embedded 5-7-6 tricyclic carbon skeleton through [3 + 2] IMCC (intramolecular [3 + 2] cross-cycloaddition), and the substituents and/or stereochemistries on C-4, C-6, C-7 and C-10 fully match those in the rhamnofolane, tigliane and daphnane diterpenoids. Furthermore, ring-opening of the bridged oxa-[3.2.1]octane via C-O bond cleavage was also successfully achieved.

Project description:(RS)-(±)-2-Methoxy-carbonyl-3-tropinone is an important inter-mediate for the preparation of cocaine and its derivatives. The molecule in the title compound, C(10)H(16)NO(3) (+)·C(4)H(5)O(6) (-), is present as the enol tautomer. The six-membered ring adopts a half boat conformation, and the five-membered ring a slightly distorted envelope conformation. There are intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the hydroxyl, carboxyl groups and quaternary ammonium groups.

Project description:The dirhodium complex, [Rh(2)(C(18)H(15)P)(4)(CO)(2)]·2(CH(3))(2)CO, has crystallographic twofold symmetry and the Rh-Rh distance is 2.6266 (8) Å. The four atoms proximate to each Rh atom [Rh-P = 2.3222 (7) and 2.3283 (8) Å, and Rh-C = 1.961 (3) and 2.045 (3) Å] form a distorted tetra-hedron with large deviations from the putative tetra-hedral angles [r.m.s. deviation = 23 (1)°]. The six angles more closely approximate those of a trigonal bipyramid [r.m.s. deviation = 14 (1)°] with one missing equatorial ligand. The two bridging carbonyl ligands are much more linearly coordinated to one Rh [Rh-C O = 151.0 (2)°] than to the other [127.0 (2)°], and the two Rh(2)CO planes form a dihedral angle of 45.43 (5)°. The two acetone solvent mol-ecules are disordered, and their estimated scattering contribution was subtracted from the observed diffraction data using the SQUEEZE routine in PLATON [Spek (2009 ▶). Project description:Through a diffusion reaction, cuprous bromide, triphenyl-phosphane and 1,3-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)propane (bpp) were self-assembled to form the one-dimensional title compound, [Cu(2)Br(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)](n). Each Cu(I) atom is coordinated by two Br atoms, one P atom from a triphenyl-phosphane ligand and one N atom from a bpp mol-ecule in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Two μ(2)-Br bridges connect two [Cu(PPh(3))](+) units to form neutral [CuBr(PPh(3))](2) dimers, which are linked by the flexible bridging bpp ligands to form a one-dimensional chain structure parallel to the c axis. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings of the bpp ligand is 34.59 (14)°.

Project description:The cation in the title salt, C(33)H(28)FN(3)OPS(+)·Cl(-), is highly twisted with the phospho-nium group occupying a position almost normal to the central hydroxyl-benzene ring [P-C-C-C tosrsion angle = -100.9 (3)°], and with the hydrazone substituent twisted out of the plane [C-C-C-N torsion angle = 13.1 (4)°]. The fluoro-benzene ring is twisted out of the plane of the adjacent thio-urea residue, forming a dihedral angle of 51.69 (10)°. The configuration about the C=N bond [1.281 (4) Å] is E, the O-H and N-H hydrogen atoms are syn, and in the thio-urea residue, the N-H hydrogen atoms are anti, allowing for the formation of an intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, dimeric aggregates mediated by N-H⋯S bonds are formed, which are linked to the Cl(-) anions by O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. The four-component aggregates are linked into a three-dimensional structure by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Au(C(18)H(27)ClN(3))(C(18)H(15)P)](NO(3))(2), is a coordination complex of gold(I) triphenyl-phosphine with the N atom in the quinoline ring of the common anti-malarial compound chloro-quine (CQ). The pendant diethyl-amino group of the CQ ligand was found to be protonated. The complex exhibits a nearly linear coordination geometry around the Au(I) atom [N-Au-P = 176.94 (6)°], with Au-N and Au-P bond lengths of 2.070 (2) and 2.2338 (7) Å, respectively. The diethylammonium group and one of the two nitrate counter-ions are disordered with occupancy ratios of 0.519 (4):0.481 (4). The nitrate anions are hydrogen bound to both the amino and ammonium groups of the N,N-diethylpentanaminium fragment of the CQ.
