ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)F(3)O(2)S)Cl(C(12)H(8)N(2))], the Cu(II) ion exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The coordination environment of the cation comprises two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline and two O atoms from thenoyltrifluoro-acetone in the basal plane and one Cl(-) anion at the apical site. There are weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(7)O(2))(C(2)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry with two acetyl-acetonate O and two phenanthroline N atoms forming the base. The apical position is occupied by the central N atom of the dicyanamide ligand. The dicyanamide N atoms are each involved in hydrogen bonds to water mol-ecules. There are also hydrogen bonds between both the water mol-ecules and their centrosymmetric pairs, creating a hydrogen-bonded chain along the b-axis direction.

The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 2.008 (3) and 2.019 (3) Å] and two O atoms from 3-fluoro-benzoate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.950 (2) and 1.978 (2) Å]. One O atom from another 3-fluoro-benzoate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.210 (2) Å]. Project description:The complete molecule of the title compound, [Cu2(C2H3O2)2(CF3O3S)2(C12H8N2)2], is completed by the application of a twofold rotation and comprises two Cu(II) ions, each of which is penta-coordinated by two N atoms from a bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, two O atoms from acetate ligands and an O atom from a tri-fluoro-methane-sulfonate anion, forming a (4 + 1) distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The Cu(II) ions are connected by two acetate bridges in a syn-syn configuration. The F atoms of the tri-fluoro-methane-sulfonate ligands are disordered, with site-occupation factors of 70 and 30. The molecular structure is stabilized by intra-molecular face-to-face π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.5654 (12)-3.8775(12) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯O interactions, leading to a three-dimensional lattice structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Fe(C12H8N2)3][(CF3SO2)2N]2·H2O, is constructed by one octa-hedral [Fe(phen)3](2+) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) cation (point group symmetry 2), two Tf2N(-) [bis-(tri-fluoromethyl-sulfon-yl)imide] anions, and one water mol-ecule of crystallization (point group 2). The Fe-N bond lengths are indicative of a d (6) low-spin state for the Fe(II) ion in the complex. The dihedral angle between the phen ligands in the cation is 87.64 (6)°. The Tf2N(-) counter-anion is non-coordinating, with the -CF3 groups arranged in a trans fashion with respect to each other, leading to an anti,anti conformation of the -CF3 groups and -SO2N- moieties relative to the S-C bonds. The water mol-ecule of crystallization connects two O atoms of the Tf2N(-) anions through weak hydrogen bonds. C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are also observed, consolidating the packing of the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a square-planar fashion by the two N atoms of a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and by two water mol-ecules trans to the N atoms. The coordination sphere of the metal atom is augmented by O atoms of two weakly bonded perchlorate anions, thus yielding a strongly distorted CuN(2)O(4) octa-hedral environment. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and the perchlorate anions. In addition, the organic mol-ecules are associated by π-π stacking inter-actions between symmetry-equivalent anti-parallel non-nitro-gen aromatic rings, with inter-planar distances of 3.543 (2) Å.
