ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Ni(C(15)H(11)ClN(2)O(3))(C(3)H(4)N(2))], the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by a phenolate O, hydrazine N and carbonyl O atom from the hydrazone ligand and by an N atom from the imidazole mol-ecule, forming a distorted square-planar geometry. Inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds link neighboring molecules into extended chains parallel to [100].

Project description:In either of the two independent mol-ecules within the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C(16)H(15)NO(3))(C(3)H(4)N(2))], the Ni(II) atom is coordinated by the two N atoms and two O atoms in a distorted square-planar geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by strong and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, as well as weak centroid-centroid π-stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.526 (3) Å].

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title Ni(II) complex, [Ni(C(6)H(4)NO(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)], the Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is chelated by two oxidopyridiniumcarboxyl-ate anions and further cis-coordinated by two imidazole ligands in a distorted cis-N(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. The C-O bond distance of 1.2573 (19) Å found for the non-coordinating O atom of the carboxyl-ate group indicates significant delocalization of π-electron density over this residue. Similarly, the C-O bond distance of 1.260 (2) Å in the heteroaromatic ring indicates delocalization between the deprotonated hydr-oxy group and the pyridinium ring. The uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atom links with the imidazole and pyridinium rings of adjacent mol-ecules via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, leading to a two-dimensional array parallel to (100).

Project description:In the title complex, [U(C17H14BrN3O2S)O2(C2H5OH)], the U(VI) cation has a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment with the penta-gonal plane defined by two N and two O atoms of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand and the O atom of the ethanol mol-ecule. Two oxide O atoms occupy the axial positions. The azomethine C=N group and the Br atom are disordered over two positions in a 0.8356 (18):0.1644 (18) ratio. The ethyl-thiolyl group is disordered over three conformations in a 0.8356 (18):0.085 (6):0.079 (6) ratio, and the ethanol ligand is also disordered over three orientations in a 0.470 (16):0.277 (19):0.253 (18) ratio. In the crystal, mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers through hydrogen bonding between ethanol O-H donors and phenolate O-atom acceptors. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions consolidate the crystal packing.
