ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(14)H(12)N(2)O(3), was prepared by reaction of 2-nitro-benzaldehyde with 4-methoxy-benzenamine at 377 K. The molecule has an E configuration, with a dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of 43.3 (5)°. An intermolecular C-H⋯O interaction links molecules in zigzag chains down the a axis.
