ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Mn(C(9)H(7)N(4)O(3)S)Cl(C(12)H(8)N(2))(CH(4)O)(H(2)O)], contains an Mn(II) ion six-coordinated by one O atom from the 2-[1-(4-hydroxy-phen-yl)-1H-tetra-zol-5-ylsulfan-yl]-acetate ligand, two N atoms from a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one O atom from a methanol mol-ecule, one Cl atom and one water mol-ecule in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The existence of O-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further produces a two-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The crystal packing also exhibits weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.734 (2) Å] and short inter-molecular Cl⋯Cl contacts [3.306 (2) and 3.278 (2) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)Cl(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], features a centrosymmetric binuclear complex. The coordination geometry around the Cu(II) atom is square-pyramidal, comprising two N atoms from a symmetrically chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one O atom from a trichloro-acetate ligand and two Cl(-) anions. In addition, there is a weak intra-molecular Cu?O inter-action of 2.9403?(14)?Å involving the carbonyl O atom of the trichloro-acetate ligand. The central Cu(2)Cl(2) core takes the form of a rhombus, owing to the disparate Cu-Cl bond lengths. Mol-ecules are connected in the crystal structure by C-H?Cl and C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(C(7)H(6)NO(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)](n), consists of extended layers parallel to (001) with 2-(pyridin-4-ylsulfan-yl)acetate ligands bridging the Zn(II) atoms. The Zn(II) atom shows a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. The Zn(II) and one O atom are situated on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, intra-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions help to consolidate the coordination layer.

In L, the pyridine and pyrimidine rings are twisted at an angle of 11.2 (1)°. The coordinated water mol-ecules and the acetate groups are involved in the formation of a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network, which consolidates the crystal packing.
