ABSTRACT: In title compound, [Tb(C(12)H(9)O(2))(3)(C(3)H(7)NO)](n), the Tb atom is nine-coordinated by nine O atoms from three naphthalene-1-acetate and one N,N-dimethyl-formamide ligands. The Tb atoms are linked by three bridging naphthalene-1-acetate ligands into a chain parallel to the b axis. Further stabilization of the structure is accomplished by non-classical C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π interactions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(12)H(9)O(2))(4)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)], contains two independent centrosymmetric dinuclear copper(II) complexes. The central paddle-wheel units are formed by four bridging bidentate naphthalene-1-acetate ligands with two dimethyl-formamide ligands in the axial positions. The unique Cu(II) ions have slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometries. One of the naphthalene rings is disordered over two sets of sites, with refined occpancies of 0.535 (4) and 0.465 (4).

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Mg(C(10)H(6)O(6)S(2))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)](n), consists of MgO(6) octa-hedra ( symmetry) connected to naphthalene-1,5-disulfonate ligands ( symmetry) in the equatoral plane, forming a two-dimensional network propagating parallel to (010). The coordination sphere of the Mg atom is completed by the O atoms of two N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules in the axial positions. The title compound represents the first time the naphthalene-1,5-disulfonate anion is bound directly to a Mg(2+) atom. Disorder over two positions was found in the DMF mol-ecule in a 0.518 (8):0.482 (8) ratio.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, [Ce(C(7)H(3)N(2)O(6))(3)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)](n), exists as a linear chain along [111] as the three dinitro-benzoate anions each engages in bridging adjacent dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) coordinated Ce(III) atoms. The metal atoms are surrounded by eight O atoms in a square-anti-prismatic environment. There are two independent formula units in the asymmetric unit. The S atoms of two of the four DMSO mol-ecules are disordered in a 0.926 (3):0.074 (3) ratio.

Project description:The title framework compound, [Mg(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(C(3)H(7)NO)(4)](n) or [Mg(3)(bdc)(3)(DMF)(4)](n), was obtained as a side product of the solvothermal reaction of magnesium nitrate, terephthalic acid (bdcH(2)), and 1,3-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)propane in a 1:2:1 ratio in dimethyl-formamide (DMF). The asymmetric unit consists of three Mg(II) cations, three terephthalate anions, and four coordinating DMF mol-ecules. One of the four DMF mol-ecules was refined as disordered over two mutually exclusive positions, with an occupancy rate for the major moiety of 0.923 (4). The three Mg(II) cations possess distorted octa-hedral coordination geometries that form linear Mg trimers. Of the three Mg(II) cations, the central Mg(II) is octa-hedrally coordinated by six different carboxyl-ate O atoms. The terminal Mg(II) cations are bonded to four O atoms of three bdc linkers and to two O atoms of coordinating DMF mol-ecules. The compound has a two-dimensional 3(6)-network structure parallel to (001) that is formed by connection of the Mg trimers as distorted octa-hedral nodes to the bdc ligands as linkers.

One Na(I) atom, lying on an inversion center, is coordinated by four O atoms from four acetate ligands and two bridging water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The other Na(I) atom is coordinated by five O atoms from five acetate ligands and a bridging water mol-ecule. A hy-droxy H atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and is shared by two acetate ligands. The crystal packing exhibits a polymeric layer parallel to (100), which is further stablized by intra-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The layers are linked by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The distance between adjacent A and B sheets is ca 7.3 Å. In the structure, the Zn(II) center is coordinated by three O atoms from three terephthalate groups and one N atom from one dimethyl-amine ligand, adopting a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. All solvent water mol-ecules are disordered. In the structure, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title coordination polymer, [Y(2)(C(8)H(5)NO(4))(3)(C(3)H(7)NO)(4)](n), contains one Y(3+) ion, three half-mol-ecules of the 2-amino-benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (abz) dianion and two O-bonded N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules. Each abz half-mol-ecule is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry and its -NH(2) group is disordered in each case [relative occupancies within the asymmetric unit = 0.462 (18):0.538 (18), 0.93 (2):0.07 (2) and 0.828 (16):0.172 (16)]. The combination of disorder and crystal symmetry means that each of the four C-H atoms of the benzene ring of each of the dianions bears a statistical fraction of an -NH(2) group. The coordination geometry of the yttrium ion is a fairly regular YO(8) square anti-prism arising from its coordination by two DMF mol-ecules, four monodentate abz dianions and one O,O-bidentate abz dianion. The polymeric building unit is a dimeric paddle-wheel with two metal ions linked by four bridging abz dianions. Further bridging linkages connect the dimers into a three-dimensional framework containing voids in which highly disordered DMF mol-ecules are presumed to reside.

Project description:The title compound, [Pb(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(8)H(10)O(2))](n), has a polymeric structure, with acetatolead(II) chains and 2,5-dimethyl-benzene-1,4-diol mol-ecules forming bridges between two Pb(II) ions from neighbouring chains. Each Pb(II) centre is surrounded by eight O atoms; four belong to bidentate acetate ions, three to neighbouring bridging acetate groups and one to the 2,5-dimethyl-benzene-1,4-diol mol-ecule. The Pb(II) ions are chelated symmetrically and asymmetrically by acetate ligands. The coordination environment of the Pb(II) ion can be described as a hemidirected Pb(II)O(6) core with the empty space around the metal ion filled by the stereochemically active 6s(2) electron pair and two longer Pb-O contacts. The Pb-O distances are in the range of 2.355 (3)-2.994 (3) Å. Additionally, the crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
