Hexakis(μ(2)-2-amino-ethanethiol-ato)-triiron(III) tris(perchlorate).

ABSTRACT: In the title salt, [Fe(3)(C(2)H(6)NS)(6)](ClO(4))(3), the trinuclear cation lies on a special position of site symmetry; the central Fe atom is coordinated by six thiol-ate groups from the two flanking fac-(S)-[Fe(C(2)H(6)NS)(3)] units. In the flanking units, the three C(2)H(6)NS groups each chelate to the metal atom. The cations inter-act with the perchlorate anions through weak N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds resulting in a three-dimensional network. In the asymmetric unit two cations are present, one of which is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.75 and 0.25.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title coordination polymer, [Y(2)(C(8)H(5)NO(4))(3)(C(3)H(7)NO)(4)](n), contains one Y(3+) ion, three half-mol-ecules of the 2-amino-benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (abz) dianion and two O-bonded N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules. Each abz half-mol-ecule is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry and its -NH(2) group is disordered in each case [relative occupancies within the asymmetric unit = 0.462 (18):0.538 (18), 0.93 (2):0.07 (2) and 0.828 (16):0.172 (16)]. The combination of disorder and crystal symmetry means that each of the four C-H atoms of the benzene ring of each of the dianions bears a statistical fraction of an -NH(2) group. The coordination geometry of the yttrium ion is a fairly regular YO(8) square anti-prism arising from its coordination by two DMF mol-ecules, four monodentate abz dianions and one O,O-bidentate abz dianion. The polymeric building unit is a dimeric paddle-wheel with two metal ions linked by four bridging abz dianions. Further bridging linkages connect the dimers into a three-dimensional framework containing voids in which highly disordered DMF mol-ecules are presumed to reside.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ce(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(3)](n), contains two Ce(III) cations, three pyridine-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate (pyd) anions and three coordinated water mol-ecules. One Ce(III) cation is coordinated by seven carboxyl-ate O atoms from six pyd anions and two water mol-ecules in a square-face-capped square-anti-prismatic geometry. Another Ce(III) cation is coordinated by seven O atoms from six pdy anions and one water mol-ecule in a bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The pdy anions bridge the Ce(III) cations, forming the three-dimensional polymeric structure. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. π-π stacking is present in the crystal structure, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.509 (4) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Nd(3)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(OH)(3)]·H(2)O}(n), the Nd(III) atom is eight-coordinated by the three O atoms of three asymmetrically μ(3)-bridging hydroxide groups, by four carboxyl-ate O atoms of four different pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate (2,5-pydc) ligands, and by the N atom of a 2,5-pydc ligand. Six Nd atoms are connected by six hydroxide groups, forming an [Nd(6)(μ(3)-OH)(6)] cluster unit of symmetry -3 and a slightly compressed octa-hedral geometry. Adjacent [Nd(6)(μ(3)-OH)(6)] clusters are connected by the 2,5-pydc ligands, via O and N atoms, forming chains along the c axis. The remaining O atoms of the 2,5-pydc ligands link these chains into a three-dimensional framework. A disordered water molecule, located on a threefold rotation axis at the opposite side of the [Nd(6)(μ(3)-OH)(6)] cluster and exposed to each of the three Nd atoms, completes the structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Sm(2)(C(14)H(8)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](n), is composed of one-dimensional chains and is isostructural with previously reported compounds [Wang et al. (2003 ▶). Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. pp. 1355-1360]. The asymmetric unit contains two Sm atoms, each of which lies on a crystallographic twofold axis. Both crystallographically independent Sm atoms are coordinated by eight O atoms in a distorted dodeca-hedral arrangement. The polymeric chains run along [001]. Adjacent chains are connected through π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.450 (2) Å], forming a two-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title one-dimensional coordination polymer, [Eu(C(8)H(5)N(2)O(2))(3)](n), the Eu(III) ion is eight-coordinated by the carboxyl-ate O atoms of six ligands in a distorted monocapped penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The ligands link Eu(III) ions, forming helical chains parallel to the c axis, with Eu⋯Eu separations of 4.0678 (11) Å. The chains are further inter-connected by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The crystal studied was a racemic twin, as suggested by the Flack parameter of 0.367 (14).

The first is N,O-chelated by three 3-amino-pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ions, whereas the second is chelated by two carboxyl-ate ions; both exist in a monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. The polymeric chains that run along the a axis inter-act with the lattice water mol-ecules, generating a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network. The formate ion is disordered over two positions with respect to the non-coordinated atoms in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ce(2)(C(8)H(5)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](n), each Ce ion is in nine-coordinated environment. Eight O atoms from six ligands participate in coordination, in addition to one O atom from a water mol-ecule. Both carboxyl-ate groups from the ligands chelate the Ce atoms, forming two four-membered rings. The 5-amino-isophthalate ligands also bridge the Ce centers, forming a two-dimensional network, and O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds complete the structure.

There are two unique pyrazine N,N'-dioxide ligands. One ring is located around an inversion center, and there is a a twofold rotation axis at the center of the other ring. There are also two unique perchlorate anions. One is centered on a twofold rotation axis and the other on a fourfold roto-inversion axis. The perchlorate anions are located in channels that run perpendicular to (001) and (110) and inter-act with the coordination network through C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
