ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(20)H(16)N(4), is a precursor for the production of electron-transporting and -emitting materials. The bond lengths and angles in this compound are normal. In the crystal structure, there are no significant hydrogen-bonding inter-actions or π-π stacking inter-actions between mol-ecules.

Project description:Purpose:To further explore the possible molecular mechanism by which compound 5n induces A549 cell apoptosis, we analyzed global transcriptome alterations of A549 cells at certain time points (48 h) after compound 5n treatment using RNA-seq analysis. Methods: Differential expression analysis for mRNA was performed using R package edgeR. Differentially expressed RNAs with |log2(FC)| value >1 and q value <0.05, considered as significantly modulated, were retained for further analysis. This choice is motivated by the decision to maximize the sensitivity of this analysis, in order to perform a massive screening and identify candidate genes to be validated with a wider sample population with real-time PCR analysis Results: The quantity of gene expression was calculated by FPKM (Fragments Per Kilobase of transcript per Million fragments mapped). Genes with log2 (Fold change) >1 and P value < 0.05 were considered as differentially expressed genes (DEGs). There were 146 upregulated genes and 158 downregulated genes for a total of 304 DEGs that were results are shown in Fig. 8A. Furthermore, the enriched KEGG pathways were analyzed and the top 30 pathways involved in these 304 DEGs between the two groups are shown in Figure SI. Among the top 30 pathways, 9 pathways related to mitochondrial function had significant effects. 37 DEGs in KEGG pathway associated with mitochondrial function was conducted and analyzed. Conclusions: Metabolism-related pathways was affected by compound 5n according the RNA-seq analysis

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(15)H(13)NO, approximates a planar conformation except for the alkyl chain (ethyl group) bonded to the N atom with a maximum deviation from the least-squares plane through the 15 planar atoms of 0.120 (2) Å for the O atom. The distance of the formyl O atom from the plane of the carbazole ring is 0.227 (2) Å. The N-C bond lengths in the central ring are significantly different, reflecting the electron-withdrawing properties of the aldehyde group. As a consequence, charge transfer may occur from the carbazole N atom to the substituted benzene ring.

Project description:In the title compound, C(22)H(17)N(3)O(5), synthesized via the aza-Wittig reaction of ethyl 3-(phenyl-imino-methyl-ene-amino)-benzofuran-2-carboxyl-ate, benzene isocyanate and diethyl 2-amino-succinate, the imidazo[1,2-a]benzo[4,5]furo[2,3-d]pyrim-idine ring system is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation for all 16 non-H atoms = 0.020 Å). The phenyl ring is twisted with respect to this ring system, making a dihedral angle of 54.23 (4)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(12)H(11)NS, features parallel chains of alternating N-H⋯S hydrogen-bonded mirror-image conformers along [10[Formula: see text]]. The mol-ecular conformation is that of an envelope, with all of the framework atoms except one close to a mean plane (rms deviation 0.054 Å); one C atom of the cyclo-hexene-thione ring forms the envelope flap, which makes a dihedral angle of 48.6 (1)° with the rest of the mol-ecule. There is a π-π* inter-action between pairs of enanti-omers in adjacent chains; the distance between parallel planes is 3.466 (1) Å.
