N'-[(5-Methyl-furan-2-yl)methyl-ene]isonicotinohydrazide.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(12)H(11)N(3)O(2), was prepared by the reaction of isonicotinohydrazide and 5-methyl-furan-2-carbalde-hyde. The pyridine ring makes a dihedral angle of 46.90 (9)° with the mean plane of the furan ring. The crystal packing is stabilized by a bifurcated inter-molecular N-H⋯(N,O) inter-action.

Project description:There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(15)H(16)O(5). In each, the 1,3-dioxane ring is in an envelope conformation with the C atom common to the cyclo-hexane ring forming the flap. The dihedral angles between the five essentially planar [maximum deviations from the least-squares planes of 0.049 (3) and 0.042 (3) Å] atoms of the 1,3-dioxane ring and the furan ring in the two mol-ecules are 7.15 (1) and 6.80 (1)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C(12)H(11)N(3)O(2)S, the pyridine ring is inclined to the thio-phene ring, forming a dihedral angle of 34.96 (7)°. The mean plane through the hydrazide unit forms dihedral angles of 21.57 (8) and 53.08 (8)°, respectively, with the pyridine and thio-phene rings. The two O atoms are twisted away from each other, as indicated by the C-N-N-C torsion angle of -81.27 (15)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into an extended three-dimensional network by inter-molecular N-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure also features a short S⋯O [3.2686 (10) Å] inter-action and a weak inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-action.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(13)H(13)N(3)OS, which was obtained from a condensation reaction of N-(p-tol-yl)hydrazinecarbothio-amide and furfural. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the tolyl ring and the (furan-2-yl-methyl-ene)hydrazine unit are 39.83 (8) and 48.95 (7)° in the two mol-ecules. The mol-ecules both exhibit an E configuration. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds connect the two independent mol-ecules.
