ABSTRACT: In the title azide-bridged dinuclear centrosymmetric nickel(II) complex, [Ni(2)(N(3))(4)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)], the Ni(II) atom is five-coordinated by two N atoms of the 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand and three N atoms from three azide ligands in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The Ni⋯Ni distance is 3.2398 (12) Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Yb(2)(CF(3)O(3)S)(C(10)H(15))(2)(OH)(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)](C(24)H(20)B)·C(12)H(12)N(2), crystallizes as a half-sandwich complex with a bridging trifluoro-methane-sulfonate as well as two bridging hydroxide groups. The bound bipyridine ligands have N-C-C-N torsion angles of 13.1 (9) and -12.1 (8)°. The structure also contains an uncoordinated 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine molecule with an N-C-C-N torsion angle of 169.5 (7)°. The triply bridged Yb centers are 3.5990 (4) Å apart. The Yb-N bond lengths are in the range 2.389 (6)-2.424 (5) Å.

Project description:In the crystal of the title polymeric compound, [CdBr(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))](n), the Cd(II) cation is located on a twofold rotation axis. The disulfanediyldibenzo-ate dianion bridges two Ni(II )atoms. Adjacent mol-ecules are linked through the coordinated water mol-ecules, forming a O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded chain running along the a axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(22)N(6) (2+)·2PF(6) (-), was prepared by the reaction of 5,5'-bis-(bromo-meth-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine with 1-methyl-imidazole. The main mol-ecule lies on an inversion center located at the mid-point of the C-C bond joining the two pyridine rings. The asymmetric unit therefore contains one half-mol-ecule and one hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and imidazole rings is 76.93 (7)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2)O(4))(2)]·4C(3)H(7)NO, which contains a chloride-bridged centrosymmetric Cu(II) dimer, the Cu(II) atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal 4 + 1 coordination geometry defined by the N atoms of the chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, a terminal chloride and two bridging chloride ligands. Of the two independent dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules, one is hydrogen bonded to a single -COOH group, while one links two adjacent -COOH groups via a strong accepted O-H⋯O and a weak donated C(O)-H⋯O hydrogen bond. Two of these last mol-ecules and the two -COOH groups form a centrosymmetric hydrogen-bonded ring in which the CH=O and the -COOH groups by disorder adopt two alternate orientations in a 0.44:0.56 ratio. These hydrogen bonds link the Cu(II) complex mol-ecules and the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecules into infinite chains along [-111]. Slipped π-π stacking inter-actions between two centrosymmetric pyridine rings (centroid-centroid distance = 3.63 Å) contribute to the coherence of the structure along [0-11].

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(2)(C(4)H(9))(2)(C(12)H(20))(2)], has two 1-stannacyclo-penta-diene skeletons related by inversion symmetry located at the mid-point of the Sn-Sn bond [2.7682 (2) Å]. Thus, the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. The planarity of the stannacyclo-penta-diene ring is illustrated by the dihedral angle of 0.3 (1)°, defined by the C(4) and C-Sn-C planes. To avoid steric repulsion, the two stannole rings are oriented in an anti fashion through the Sn-Sn bond. These structural features are similar to those of other bis-tannoles.

The binuclear complex mol-ecules are linked together by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a layer parallel to (100). The layers are connected by C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5958 (16) Å] are also present.
