ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)H(3)O(2))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](CH(3)CH(2)OSO(3))(0.5)(CH(3)OSO(3))(0.5), the Cu(II) ion is bis-chelated by two 2,2'-bipyridine lignds and coordinated by an O atom of an acetate ligand in a CuN(4)O disorted square-pyramidal environment. In the structure, equal amounts of methyl sulfate and ethyl sulfate anions are disordered on the same crystallographic sites. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)]SO(4)·7.5H(2)O, is a six-coordinate copper(II) complex with a slightly elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry. The pyridyl rings of the three bipyridyl ligands are not coplanar, making dihedral angels of 9.5 (5), 5.2 (4) and 5.8 (5)°. In the crystal, several O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed due to the existance of a large number of water mol-ecules and the sulfate dianions.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric bimetallic complex, [Cu(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(4)], is composed of two copper(II) cations, four acetate anions and four isonicotinamide (INA) ligands. The asymmetric unit contains one copper cation to which two acetate units bind asymmetrically; one of the Cu-O distances is rather long [2.740 (2) Å], almost at the limit of coordination. These Cu-O bonds define an equatorial plane to which the Cu-N bonds to the INA ligands are almost perpendicular, the Cu-N vectors subtending angles of 2.4 (1) and 2.3 (1)° to the normal to the plane. The metal coordination geometry can be described as a slightly distorted trigonal bipyramid if the extremely weak Cu-O bond is disregarded, or as a highly distorted square bipyramid if it is not. The double acetate bridge between the copper ions is not coplanar with the CuO(4) equatorial planes, the dihedral angle between the (O-C-O)(2) and O-Cu-O groups being 34.3 (1)°, resulting in a sofa-like conformation for the 8-member bridging loop. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur, some of which generate a head-to tail-linkage between INA units, giving raise to chains along [101]; the remaining ones make inter-chain contacts, defining a three-dimensional network. There are in addition a number of C-H⋯O bonds involving aromatic H atoms. Probably due to steric hindrance, the aromatic rings are not involved in significant π⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·CH(3)OH, contains one monomeric seven-coordinate cadmium complex and one methanol solvate mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom is coordinated to two 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands via the N atoms and to two salicylate anions (Hsal(-)) via the carboxyl-ate O atoms, which act as monodentate ligand for the one and bidentate ligand for the second. The Cd(II) atom exhibits a {6 + 1} environment, approximately described as a distorted capped octa-hedron with the apical positions occupied by one of the two N atoms belonging to one bipyridyl ligand and one of the two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. Two intra-molecular six-membered hydrogen-bonded rings are present, generated from inter-actions between the carboxyl-ate and hydr-oxy groups of the salicylate ligands. There is one inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-action involving the methanol solvent mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate group from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. The crystal packing is governed by π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.783 (4) Å] which occur between bipyridyl ligands, by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions and by numerous van der Waals contacts.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the binuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, is located on an inversion centre. The Cu atoms are bridged by two O atoms of the monodentate phenyl-acetate groups [Cu-O = 1.9808?(14) and 2.3668?(14)?Å]. The longer of the two bridging Cu-O bonds takes the apical position of the distorted square-pyramidal environment of the Cu atom, which is completed by two N atoms of the chelate 2,2'-bipyridine ligand [Cu-N = 2.0107?(17) and 2.0234?(16)?Å]. The mol-ecules are assembled into stacks along [100] through ?-? inter-actions with inter-planar distances of 3.630?(4) and 3.407?(3)?Å; the resulting stacks are further connected into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The complex and the crystal packing of the complex are stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, giving R(4) (2)(10) rings and generating a layer-like structure.

The pyrazole ligands are situated in cis positions with respect to each other. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a one-dimensional chain.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)], the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by four acetate anions and one isoquinoline mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry; the Cu(II) cation is 0.1681 (6) Å from the basal coordination plane formed by the four O atoms. Each acetate anion bridges two Cu(II) cations to form the centrosymmetric dinuclear complex. Within the dinuclear mol-ecule, the Cu⋯Cu separation is 2.6459 (4) Å. A parallel arrangement of isoquinoline ligands of adjacent complexes is observed in the crystal structure; the face-to-face distance of 3.610 (10) Å suggests there is no π-π stacking between isoquinoline ring systems.

Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title complex, [Cu(C(14)H(11)O(3))Cl(C(10)H(8)N(2))], exists within a ClN(2)O(2) donor set defined by a chloride ion, an asymmetrically chelating carboxyl-ate ligand, and a symmetrically chelating 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule. The coordination geometry is square pyramidal with the axial site occupied by the O atom forming the weaker Cu-O inter-action. The hy-droxy group forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond with the axial O atom, as well as an inter-molecular O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond. The latter leads to the formation of [100] supra-molecular chains in the crystal, with the Cu(II) atoms lying in a line.
