Catena-Poly[{di-μ-isonicotinato-bis[di-aqua-isonicotinatoeuropium(III)]}-μ-isonicotinato-[diisonicotinatocopper(II)]-μ-isonicotinato].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [CuEu(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(8)(H(2)O)(4)](n), displays a one-dimensional chain structure. The four-coordinate Cu(II) ion (site symmetry ) adopts a trans-CuN(2)O(2) geometry and is bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups from two isonicotinate ligands. The Eu(III) ion adopts a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, being coordinated by four O atoms from bridging carboxyl-ate groups of four isonicotinate ligands, two O atoms from chelating carboxyl-ate groups of one isonicotinate ligand and two O atoms from coordinated water mol-ecules; adjacent Eu(III) ions in the chain are related by inversion. The water mol-ecules interact with the ligands via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds [O⋯O = 2.782 (3)-2.881 (3) Å], which link the chains into a three-dimensional structure.

The Sm(III) atoms are bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups of two isonicotinate ligands, forming an extended chain along the c-axis direction. These chains are cross-linked through hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework, with channels which accommodate the chloride anions.

Project description:The title polymeric compound, {[Cd(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O}(n) or {[Cd(2)(hypydc)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O}(n) (where hypydcH(2) is 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was synthesized by the reaction of cadmium(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and propane-1,3-diamine, in a 1:2:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution. The compound is a seven-coordinate binuclear polymeric complex with distorted penta-gonal bipyramidal geometry around Cd(II) [Cd-O = 2.247 (4)-2.474 (3) Å]. In the binuclear monomeric units, the central atoms join together by O atoms of two bridging tridentate (hypydc)(2-) ligands, and the polymer propagates via two bridging water mol-ecules that link each Cd(II )centre of one monomer to the adjacent neighbour. Propane-1,3-diamine (pn) does not appear in the product but plays a role as a base. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and π-π stacking inter-actions, with distances of 3.725 (3) and 3.766 (3) Å, connect the various components.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Cu(SO4)(C18H14N4O2)(H2O)]·C3H7NO} n , the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms of two briding N,N'-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)isophthalamide ligands, two O atoms of two bridging SO4(2-) anions and a water mol-ecule, giving a distorted CuN2O3 square-pyramidal geometry. The whole repeating mol-ecular unit is generated by inversion symmetry. This leads to the formation of a looped-chain one-dimensional coordination polymer propagating along [110]. The dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules are linked to the chains via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The chains are linked via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional networks parallel to (001). There are also a number of C-H⋯O inter-actions present and a parallel slipped π-π inter-action. The latter involves inversion-related pyridine rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.594 (2) Å [normal distance = 3.3338 (13) and slippage = 1.341 Å]. These inter-actions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Na(2)(C(10)H(16)Cl(3)N(3)O(4)P)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), can be considered as a two-dimensional coordination polymer in which one-dimensional chains are connected to each other by inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules. The Na(I) ion is five-coordinated in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The connection between the two Na(I) ions is facilitated by the two μ-O atoms of the carbonyl group of the 2,2,2-trichloro-N-(dimorpholino-phosphor-yl)acetamide (CAPh) ligand. A bridging coordination of the CAPh ligand via the carbonyl O atom is observed for the first time. The bridging water mol-ecules form inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the O atoms of the morpholine rings and the phosphoryl groups of neighboring CAPh mol-ecules.

The water mol-ecules are involved in the formation of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Pairs of 4-chloro-benzoato ligands bridge adjacent Cd(II) ions, generating an infinite chain structure along the c axis. Parallel polymeric chains are further inter-connected through water-acetate O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers in the bc plane.
