ABSTRACT: In the title salt, [K(C(10)H(9)O(4))](n), the K(+) ions are coordinated by six O atoms from three different anions, and there is a cation-π inter-action at ca 3.14 Å. The 2-[2-(carboxymethyl)phenyl]acetate anions are stabilized by intramolecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and the K(+) cations are linked into one-dimensional coordination polymers running along the b axis; these are further inter-connected by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

A two-dimensional polymer is generated, lying parallel to (100), within which there are water-carboxyl-ate O-H⋯O hy-dro-gen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(CH(3)CO(2))Cl(C(14)H(14)N(4))](n), is a one-dimensional coordination polymer in which the Zn(II) ion is tetrahedrally -coordinated by two N atoms of a bridging 1,1'-[1,4-phenyl-enebis(methyl-ene)]di-1H-imidazole ligand, an acetate O atom and a Cl atom. The Cl atom, two acetate O atoms and two acetate C atoms are located on a mirror plane.
