ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Pd(2)(C(11)H(8)N)(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)], each Pd(II) ion has a distorted square-planar environment, being surrounded by one C, one N and two O atoms. The Pd⋯Pd distance is 2.8721 (3) Å. In the crystal structure, the mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Each mol-ecule may be described as a dimer with an anti configuration and the cyclo-metallated fragments in the characteristic open-book disposition, linked by two bridging acetate ligands.

Project description:The title compound, [Pd(2)(C(11)H(14)NO)(2)Cl(2)], has a dimeric structure with Cl atoms bridging the two Pd atoms, one half of the mol-ecule being generated by symmetry due to the crystallographic inversion centre located in the middle of the perfectly planar Pd(2)Cl(2) ring. The five-membered ring adopts an envelope conformation, while the morpholino group has a chair conformation. The geometry around the metal centres is distorted square-planar, as a result of a strong intra-molecular N→Pd coordination trans to a Pd-Cl bond. In the crystal structure, the dimeric structure is strengthened by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. C-H⋯C(phen-yl) inter-actions link the dimers into a columnar supra-molecular array along the a axis; the dimers are further connected by C-H⋯Ph inter-actions into a three-dimensional supra-molecular arrangement.

Project description:In the mol-ecular structure of the title neutral binuclear complex, [Cd(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(12)H(12)N(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, each Cd(II) atom is six-coordinated and exhibits a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Three O atoms from two acetate ions and one monodentate 3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl-κN(3))-1-phenyl-propan-1-one (L) ligand form the equatorial plane, while the bridging-O atom forming the longer Cd-O distance,and the N atom of the second L ligand, forming the longer Cd-N distance, occupy axial positions with an N-Cd-O angle of 170.77 (7)°. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds exist between the lattice water mol-ecules and the acetate ions of adjacent mol-ecules, resulting in a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear title molecule, [Co(2)(SO(4))(2)(C(8)H(7)N(3))(4)], the Co(II) ion is coordinated by two N,N'-bidentate 3-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrazole ligands and two sulfate ions, generating a distorted cis-CoO(2)N(4) octa-hedral geometry for the metal atom. The dihedral angles between the pyridine and pyrazole rings in the two ligands are 10.5 (2) and 7.38 (19)°. The bridging sulfate ions generate an eight-membered ring and intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to establish the mol-ecular conformation.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric bimetallic complex, [Cu(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(4)], is composed of two copper(II) cations, four acetate anions and four isonicotinamide (INA) ligands. The asymmetric unit contains one copper cation to which two acetate units bind asymmetrically; one of the Cu-O distances is rather long [2.740 (2) Å], almost at the limit of coordination. These Cu-O bonds define an equatorial plane to which the Cu-N bonds to the INA ligands are almost perpendicular, the Cu-N vectors subtending angles of 2.4 (1) and 2.3 (1)° to the normal to the plane. The metal coordination geometry can be described as a slightly distorted trigonal bipyramid if the extremely weak Cu-O bond is disregarded, or as a highly distorted square bipyramid if it is not. The double acetate bridge between the copper ions is not coplanar with the CuO(4) equatorial planes, the dihedral angle between the (O-C-O)(2) and O-Cu-O groups being 34.3 (1)°, resulting in a sofa-like conformation for the 8-member bridging loop. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur, some of which generate a head-to tail-linkage between INA units, giving raise to chains along [101]; the remaining ones make inter-chain contacts, defining a three-dimensional network. There are in addition a number of C-H⋯O bonds involving aromatic H atoms. Probably due to steric hindrance, the aromatic rings are not involved in significant π⋯π inter-actions.

One Na(I) atom, lying on an inversion center, is coordinated by four O atoms from four acetate ligands and two bridging water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The other Na(I) atom is coordinated by five O atoms from five acetate ligands and a bridging water mol-ecule. A hy-droxy H atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and is shared by two acetate ligands. The crystal packing exhibits a polymeric layer parallel to (100), which is further stablized by intra-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The layers are linked by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Each Sn atom has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with the equatorial plane formed by an oxido O atom and two C atoms of two benzyl anions. The configuration of the complex is stabilized by a pair of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are linked into zigzag chains along [110] by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The crystal packing reveals one weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which self-assembles the mol-ecules into infinite chains parallel to the b axis.

The Cd(II) atoms are connected alternately by the Cl atoms and bbe ligands, leading to a chain along [001]. These chains are further linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Intra-chain N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed.
