Aqua-(4,5-dihydroxy-benzene-1,3-disulfonato-κO)bis-(1,10-phenanthroline-κN,N')cadmium(II) monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cd(C(6)H(4)O(8)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, each Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms [Cd-N = 2.310 (7)-2.341 (7) Å] from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, one O atom [Cd-O = 2.300 (6) Å] from a 4,5-dihydroxy-benzene-1,3-disulfonate ligand and one aqua O atom [Cd-O = 2.288 (7) Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal packing exhibits inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions evidenced by relatively short distances [3.525 (5)-3.937 (6) Å] between the centroids of the six-membered rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(HCO(2))(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, contains a mononuclear complex mol-ecule hydrogen bonded to a lattice water mol-ecule. The Ni(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by the N atoms from a 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two O atoms of a chelating formate anion, one aqua O atom and one O atom of a coordinating formate anion. The mol-ecules are assembled into chains extending along [100] through by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(HCO(2))(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, contains a mononuclear complex mol-ecule hydrogen bonded to a lattice water mol-ecule. The Co(II) cation is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment defined by the two N atoms of the 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and four O atoms. Two of these are from a chelating formate anion, one from a monodentate formate and the last from an aqua ligand. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming double chains along [100] with the 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligands pointing outwards from each chain. These chains are further linked into layers parallel to (011) by inter-chain π-π stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.61 (1) Å.

Project description:The imino-diacetate dianion in the title compound, [Co(C(4)H(5)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, chelates to the cobalt(II) atom, its N and two O atoms occupying the fac sites of the distorted octa-hedron around the metal atom. The metal atom is also chelated by the N-heterocycle. The dianion, and coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules inter-act through hydrogen bonds, generating a layer motif. The crystal studied was a racemic twin with a 0.62 (2):0.38 (2) domain ratio.

The chains contain six-coordinate Mn(II) ions bridged by formate anions. They are further extended into a three-dimensional network via O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and inter-chain π-π stacking inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.679 (4) Å.

The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 2.008 (3) and 2.019 (3) Å] and two O atoms from 3-fluoro-benzoate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.950 (2) and 1.978 (2) Å]. One O atom from another 3-fluoro-benzoate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.210 (2) Å].
