ABSTRACT: In the mol-ecule of the title compound, [CdCl(2)(C(24)H(20)N(2))(2)], the Cd(II) centre has a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry defined by two chloride ions and two pyridine N atoms of the monodentate 2-[(triphenyl-meth-yl)amino]pyridine ligands. Weak intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds help to establish the three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Cu(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, adopts a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedral CuN(6) coordination geometry. The two bidentate 2-amino-methyl-pyridine ligands are coordinated in a trans fashion, while the two thio-cyanate ligands are at the axial positions and coordinate to the Cu atom in a bent mode with a C-N-Cu angle of 127.49 (10)°. Inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds link the copper complex mol-ecules into an infinite two-dimensional network.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(9)H(16)N(2)Si)(2)], the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral environment formed by two chloride ions and the pyridine N atoms of two chelating 6-methyl-2-[(trimethyl-silyl)amino]pyridine ligands. The dihedral angle between the planes of the pyridine rings is 80.06 (5)°. Cohesion within the crystal structure is accomplished by N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The molecular title compound, [MnCl(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], lies about an inversion centre. The Mn(II) atom is in an all-trans octa-hedral environment defined by two water mol-ecules, two chloride anions and two pyridine ligands. An inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-action between a water mol-ecule and a chloride anion bonded to an adjacent Mn(II) atom generates an eight-membered ring. The crystal packing exhibits two inter-molecular π-π stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.485 (12) and 3.532 (12) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(11)H(9)N)(2)], the Zn(2+) cation lies on a twofold axis and is coordinated by two Cl(-) anions and the N atoms of two 2-phenyl-pyridine ligands, forming a ZnN(2)Cl(2) polyhedron with a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. The dihedral angle between the phenyl ring and the metal-bound pyridine ring is 50.3 (4)° for each 2-phenyl-pyridine ligand. This arranges the phenyl ring from one ligand in the complex above the pyridine ring of the other resulting in an intra-molecular π-π inter-action, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6796 (17) Å. Weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing, linking mol-ecules into chains along the c axis.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [CdCl(2)(C(8)H(8)N(4))(2)](n), the Cd(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, is coordinated by two Cl atoms and two triazole N atoms and two pyridyl N atoms from four 1-(4-pyridyl-meth-yl)-1,2,4-triazole (pmta) ligands in a distorted trans-CdCl(2)N(4) octa-hedral arrangement. The bridg-ing pmta ligands, with a dihedral angle between the triazole and pyridyl rings of 71.86 (8)°, link the Cd atoms into a 4(4) sheet parallel to (02). π-π inter-actions between the triazole rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.428 (2) Å] connect the sheets.

Project description:In the title complex, [ZnCl2(C10H9N5)2], the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two 2-[(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)meth-yl]-1H-benzimidazole (tmb) ligands and by two chloride ligands in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In the tmb ligands, the benzimidazole rings systems are essentially planar, with maximum deviations from the mean plane of 0.021 (3) and 0.030 (3) Å, and form dihedral angles of 73.2 (2) and 83.5 (2)° with the triazole rings. In the crystal, N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link complex mol-ecules into chains along [010]. In addition, weak C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds complete a three-dimensional network. Two weak intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds are also observed.

The two pyridyl planes are inclined with dihedral angles of 59.1 (2) and 61.84 (19)° with respect to the PtCl(2)N(2) plane. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules display inter- and intra-molecular π-π stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.806 (5)-3.845 (5) Å, which form a one-dimensional column structure along the a axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(11)H(9)N)(2)], contains one half of a neutral Pd(II) complex, with the complete mol-ecule generated by the application of a twofold rotation axis; the N-Pd-N atoms lie on the axis. The Pd(II) ion has a trans-Cl(2)N(2) square-planar coordination geometry defined by two N atoms from two 4-phenyl-pyridine ligands and two Cl(-) anions. In the refinement, the pyridine ring and the phenyl ring were found to be disordered over two sites with the site-occupancy factors being 0.53 (2) and 0.51 (1), respectively, for the major components.
