Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The three independent organic mol-ecules of 3,5-dinitro-pyridin-4(1H)-one monohydrate, C(5)H(3)N(3)O(5)·H(2)O, each feature an N-H⋯O(water) hydrogen bond. Each water mol-ecule serves as hydrogen-bond donor to two carbonyl O atoms; these hydrogen bonds give rise to a layer motif. Two of the three formula units lie on special positions of site symmetry 2.
