The cyclo-hexane ring exhibits a chair conformation, with C-C bond lengths in the range 1.518 (3)-1.531 (3) Å and C-C-C angles in the range 110.45 (19)-112.09 (19)°; these agree well with the values in other cyclo-hexane derivatives described in the literature. In the crystal structure, adjacent mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯·O hydrogen bonds. The H atoms of the methyl group are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the title crystal structure, C(20)H(18)N(2)O(10), there are two independent mol-ecules, both of which lie on crystallographic inversion centres. In one mol-ecule the 4-nitro-phenyl dicarbonate groups are substituted in equatorial (A(eq)) positions of the chair-form cyclo-hexane ring while in the other mol-ecule the substitution is axial (B(ax)). The dihedral angles between the atoms of the symmetry-unique carbonate group (O=CO(2)-) and benzene ring for each mol-ecule are 47.3?(1)° for A(eq) and 11.7?(2)° for B(ax). In B(ax), this facilitates the formation of a weak intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond, while the packing is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C15H19NO4, the cyclo-hexyl ring adopts a chair conformation with both exocyclic C-C bonds in equatorial orientations. The dihedral angle between the basal plane of cyclo-hexyl ring and the 2,4-di-hydroxy-benzaldehyde moiety is 84.13 (13)°. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds closes an S(6) ring. In the crystal, Oc-H⋯Op (c = carb-oxy-lic acid, p = phenol) hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into [100] C(13) chains whereas an Op-H⋯Oc hydrogen bond generates [101] C(15) chains. Together, these bonds generate (010) sheets incorporating R 2 (2)(20) loops. Weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions also occur.

Project description:The title compound [Co(C22H26N4O4)]PF6, commonly known as [Co(bpcd)]PF6, where bpcd(2-) is derived from the historical ligand name N,N'-bis-(2-pyridyl-meth-yl)-trans-1,2-di-amino-cyclo-hexane-N,N'-di-acetate, crystallized by slow evaporation of a saturated aceto-nitrile solution in air. The cation of the hexa-fluorido-phosphate salt has the Co(III) atom in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by an N4O2 donor atom set. The acetate groups, which are oriented trans with respect to each other, exhibit monodentate coordination whereas the pyridyl N atoms are coordinating in a cis configuration. The geometry of the cation is compared to the geometries of other di-amino di-acetate complexes with Co(III).
