ABSTRACT: The title compound, Rb(2)Ga(2)O(BO(3))(2), is part of the homologous series A(2)Ga(2)O(BO(3))(2) (A = Na, K, Rb and Cs). The structure contains pairs of gallium-centered tetra-hedra connected through a shared oxygen vertex. Orthoborate triangles connect the basal vertices of the tetra-hedra, forming a three-dimensional network with voids occupied by rubidium ions.

A pair of bis-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl) selenide ligands bridges the Cu(II) centres into a chain extending along the c axis. The water mol-ecules, anions and triphenyl-phosphine oxide mol-ecules are involved in inter-molecular hydrogen bonding, which links the chains into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the structure of the title salt, [Rb2(C7H5N2O4)2(H2O)2] n , the asymmetric unit comprises two independent and different seven-coordinate Rb(+) cations, one forming an RbO7 polyhedron, the other a RbO6N polyhedron, each of which is considerably distorted. The RbO7 polyhedron comprises bridging O-atom donors from two water mol-ecules, three carboxyl-ate groups, and two nitro groups. The RbO6N polyhedron comprises the two bridging water mol-ecules, one monodentate amine N-atom donor, one carboxyl O-atom donor and three O-atom donors from nitro groups (one from the chelate bridge). The extension of the dinuclear unit gives a three-dimensional polymeric structure which is stabilized by both intra- and inter-molecular amine N-H⋯O and water O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to carboxyl and water O-atom acceptors, as well as a number of inter-ring π-π inter-actions [minimum centroid-centroid separation = 3.364 (2) Å]. The title salt is isostructural with the analogous caesium salt.

Project description:The title compound, 2C(2)H(10)N(2) (2+)·B(14)O(20)(OH)(6) (4-), consists of a centrosymmetric tetra-deca-borate anion and two ethyl-enediammonium cations. The anions are inter-connected through strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network with channels along [100], [010], [001] and [111]. The diprotonated cations reside in the channels and inter-act with the inorganic framework by extensive N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Redetermination of tricalcium trilanthanum penta-kis(ortho-borate) from single-crystal data.

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, Ca(3)La(3)(BO(3))(5), were obtained by spontaneous nucleation from a high-temperature melt. The crystal structure of Ca(3)La(3)(BO(3))(5) has been determined previously from X-ray powder data [Zhang, Liang, Chen, He & Xu (2001). J. Alloys Compd, 327, 96-99]. The present refinement shows a significant improvement in terms of the precision of the geometric parameters and the correct determination of the absolute configuration in space group P6(3)mc with all atoms refined with anisotropic displacement parameters. The structure consists of isolated BO(3) triangles and distorted [CaO(8)] and [LaO(10)] polyhedra. Except for one O atom, all other atoms are situated on special positions: La, all O and one B atom on mirror planes, and two B atoms with site symmetry 3m.

Project description:The title compound {systematic name: poly[[aqua-lithium]-μ-3,3,8,8-tetra-methyl-1,4,6,9-tetra-oxa-5λ(4)-borataspiro-[4.4]nonane-2,7-dione]}, [Li(C(8)H(12)BO(6))(H(2)O)](n) (LiBMLB), forms a 12-membered macrocycle, which lies across a crystallographic inversion center. The lithium cations are pseudo-tetra-hedrally coordinated by three methyl-lactate ligands and a water mol-ecule. The asymmetric units couple across crystallographic inversion centers, forming the 12-membered macrocycles. These macrocycles, in turn, cross-link through the Li(+) cations, forming an infinite polymeric structure in two dimensions parallel to (101).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(5)H(12)N(+)·C(14)H(8)BO(6) (-) or [C(5)H(12)N][BO(4)(C(7)H(4)O)(2)], contains two piperidinium cations and two bis-(salicylato)borate anions. The coordination geometries around the B atoms are distorted tetra-hedral. In the two mol-ecules, the aromatic rings are oriented at dihedral angles of 76.27 (3) and 83.86 (3)°. The rings containing B atoms have twist-boat conformations, while the two cations adopt chair conformations. In the crystal, the component species are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, intra- and inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, Sr2Mn3(HPO4)2(PO4)2, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. In the structure, one of two Mn atoms is located on an inversion centre, whereas all others atoms are located in general positions. The framework structure is built up from two types of MnO6 octa-hedra (one almost undistorted, one considerably distorted), one PO3OH and one PO4 tetra-hedron. The centrosymmetric MnO6 octa-hedron is linked to two other MnO6 octa-hedra by edge-sharing, forming infinite zigzag chains parallel to [010]. The PO3OH and PO4 tetra-hedra connect these chains through common vertices or edges, resulting in the formation of sheets parallel to (100). The Sr(2+) cation is located in the inter-layer space and is bonded to nine O atoms in form of a distorted polyhedron and enhances the cohesion of the layers. Additional stabilization is achieved by a strong inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bond between the PO3OH and PO4 units. The structure of the title phosphate is isotypic to that of Pb2Mn3(HPO4)2(PO4)2.
