2-(Methyl-sulfan-yl)cyclo-dodeca-none tosyl-hydrazone.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(20)H(32)N(2)O(2)S(2), has been synthesized by the reaction of α-methyl-sulfanylcyclo-dodeca-none and p-toluene-sulfonyl-hydrazine. In the crystal structure, the conformation of the non-benzenoid ring is [3333] and the methyl-sulfanyl group is in the α-side exo position. The mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title Schiff base compound, C(12)H(15)N(3)O(2), obtained from a condensation reaction of cyclo-hexa-none and 2-nitro-phenyl-hydrazine, the phenyl-hydrazone group is planar, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.0252 (12) Å, and the nitro fragment is twisted slightly with respect to the mean plane, making a dihedral angle of 6.96 (17)°. The cyclo-heaxanone ring displays a chair conformation. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond helps to stabilize the mol-ecular structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(17)H(18)N(2)O, contains two independent mol-ecules. In both, the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a flattened chair conformation, and the 3- and 4-methyl-ene C atoms as well as the methyl C atoms are disordered over two positions, the occupancy of the major component being 68 (1)% in one mol-ecule and 64 (1)% in the other. The phenyl and pyrazole rings in both mol-ecules are approximately coplanar, the r.m.s. deviations being 0.048 and 0.015 Å, respectively. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The whole molecule of the title compound, C17H16OS2, is generated by two-fold rotational symmetry. The carbonyl C and O atoms of the cycloheptanone ring lie on the twofold rotation axis which bisects the opposite -CH2-CH2- bond of the ring. The mol-ecule exists in an E,E conformation with respect to the C=C double bond. The cyclo-hepta-none ring exhibits a twisted chair conformation and its mean plane makes a dihedral angle of 50.12 (19)° with the planes of the thio-phene rings. The two S atoms are in an anti arrangement with respect the carbonyl O atom and the dihedral angle between the two thio-phene ring planes is 69.38 (7)°. In the molecule, there are two intramolecular C-H⋯S hydrogen bond, forming S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, inversion dimers are generated via pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These dimers are inter-connected by another inter-action of the same kind with a neighbouring mol-ecule, forming a mol-ecular chain along the c-axis direction.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C15H20N4OS2, the acetamido fragment is nearly coplanar with the pyridyl ring [C-N-C-C torsion angle = -4.1 (2)°], while the cyclo-hexyl-sulfanyl portion protrudes from this plane [N-C-C-S torsion angle = -40.8 (6)°]. In the crystal, alternating pairwise N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds across inversion centres form chains along [101], which are associated into stepped layers via offset π-π stacking between pyridyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.566 (1) Å]. The cyclo-hexyl group and the two atoms of the S-C bond attached to it are disordered over two sets of sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.8845 (18) and 0.1155 (18).

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(19)H(24)S(2). In both mol-ecules, the aliphatic segment of the ligand is in an all-trans conformation: the -S-(CH(2))(5)-S-bridging chain is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.0393 and 0.0796 Å in the two mol-ecules) and maximally extended. Their mean planes form dihedral angles of 4.08 (6)/20.47 (6) and 2.22 (6)/58.19 (6)° with the aromatic rings in the two mol-ecules. The crystal packing is purely governed by weak inter-molecular forces.
