ABSTRACT: In the title salt, C(23)H(26)N(4) (2+)·2C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-), the dihedral angle between the imidazolium rings in the dication is 69.9 (1)°. The aromatic ring of the benzyl group is almost perpendicular to the N-heterocyclic ring that is directly connected to it [dihedral angles = 83.2 (2) and 77.3 (3)°].

Project description:In the title compound, C(31)H(34)N(2)O(4), the two pyrrole rings are bent around the central methyl-ene C atom, making a dihedral angle of 64.83 (7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into dimers via N-H⋯O=C hydrogen bonds. These dimers are packed through π⋯π inter-actions between neighboring pyrrole rings with a separation between the mean planes of symmetry-related pyrrole rings of 3.61 (2) Å and a centroid-centroid distance of 4.33 Å. Parallel phenyl groups in neighboring dimers also exhibit efficient π⋯π inter-actions, characterized by an inter-plane separation of 3.378 (8) Å and a centroid-centroid distance of 3.97 Å.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(9)H(14)N(4) (2+)·2Br(-), the cation and anions have crystallographic mirror symmetry, with the mirror plane running through the central CH(2) group for the cation. The latter are stacked along the a axis, forming channels hosting the bromide anions. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?Br hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, generating a two-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(22)N(6) (2+)·2PF(6) (-), was prepared by the reaction of 5,5'-bis-(bromo-meth-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine with 1-methyl-imidazole. The main mol-ecule lies on an inversion center located at the mid-point of the C-C bond joining the two pyridine rings. The asymmetric unit therefore contains one half-mol-ecule and one hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and imidazole rings is 76.93 (7)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [CdBr(2)(C(30)H(26)N(4)S)]·C(3)H(7)NO, both the complex and solvent mol-ecule lie on a crystallographic mirror plane. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated in a disorted square-pyramidal CdBr(2)N(2)S environment with one of the Br atoms in the apical site. In the crystal structure, the benzimidazole ring systems are involved in weak inter-molecular π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.606 (2) and 3.753 (2) Å]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The methyl H atoms of the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule are disordered about a mirror plane.

Project description:In the title compound, C(32)H(30)N(4)O(2)S(2), the carbonyl and thio-carbonyl groups are found in a rare synclinal conformation, with an S-C⋯C-O pseudo-torsion angle of 62.6 (2)°. The mol-ecule has C(i) = S(2) point-group symmetry with a crystallographic center of inversion located in the middle of the ethyl-ene bridge. One of the symmetry-independent phenyl rings is disordered over two orientations, with a site-occupation ratio of 70:30. The distances between the centroids of the nearest phenyl rings are equal to one of the lattice constants [a = 4.7767 (2) Å], so stacking inter-actions are extremely weak. Mol-ecules are joined by bifurcated hydrogen bonds (N-H⋯O and N-H⋯S), forming a ladder-like arrangement along [100]. van der Waals forces combine these ladders into a three-dimensional structure. The dependency between the S⋯O distance and the improper S=C⋯C=O torsion angle based on 739 structures containing the CC(=O)NC(=S)N moiety is discussed.

Project description:The title compound, C(28)H(28)N(2)O, was prepared by condensation of 1,2-bimethyl-indole and 4-methoxy-benzaldehyde. In the mol-ecular structure, the plane of the non-fused benzene ring is twisted with respect to the planes of the two indole ring systems, exhibiting dihedral angles of 72.04 (7) and 72.24 (7)°, while the planes of the two indole ring systems are oriented at a dihedral angle of 87.05 (5)°. Neither hydrogen bonding nor π-π stacking is observed in the crystal structure.
