ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Ni(II) atom is coordinated by three carboxylate O atoms (from a bidentate 4-methyl-benzoate ligand and a monodentate 4-methyl-benzoate ligand), two N atoms (from two imidazole ligands) and a water mol-ecule in an octa-hedral geometry. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions lead to infinite chains, which are further self-assembled into a supra-molecular network through inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.717 (2) Å].

Project description:In the title mononuclear complex, [Ni(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(H(2)O)], the Ni(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral arrangement, coordinated by three carboxylate O atoms from one bidentate 4-methyl-benzoate ligand and one monodentate 4-methyl-benzoate ligand, two N atoms from pyridine ligands, axially positioned, and a water mol-ecule. The equatorially positioned water mol-ecule and uncoordinated carb-oxylate O atom form an intra-molecular hydrogen bond. An inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond between the coordinated water mol-ecule and carboxylate O atom of the 4-methyl-benzoate ligand forms infinite chains along the b axis. These chains are connected by C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric mononuclear nickel(II) complex, [Ni(C(14)H(9)O(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(CH(3)CH(2)OH)(2)], the central Ni(II) ion lies on an inversion centre and is octa-hedrally coordinated. The equatorial plane is formed by two O atoms from two symmetry-related 2-benzoyl-benzoate ligands and two N atoms from two symmetry-related imidazole ligands, whereas the axial positions are occupied by two O atoms from two ethanol ligands. Intramolecular O---H...O hydrogen bonds stabilize this arrangement. The mol-ecules are linked into chains running along the b axis by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(C(8)H(8)O(2))(2)], consists of centrosymmetric monomeric units, in which the Cu(II) atom has a tetra-gonally distorted octa-hedral coordination involving two imidazole N atoms and two carboxyl-ate O atoms in the square plane [Cu-N = 1.964 (3) and Cu-O = 1.960 (2) Å] and 2-methyl-benzoic acid O atoms in axial sites [Cu-O = 2.753 (3) Å]. Within the complex, the carb-oxy-lic acid forms intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, while the mol-ecules are assembled through N-H⋯O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bonds into chains extending along the a-axis direction. These chains are further linked by weak π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.930 (2) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(4)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(4)][Ni(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(2)]·6H(2)O, is a mononuclear/dinuclear nickel(II) cocrystal, the two mol-ecular species inter-acting through hydrogen bonds that involve the uncoordinated water mol-ecules. In the mononuclear species, the Ni(II) ion, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two 1H-benzimidazole (bzim) ligands and two 3-hydroxy-benzoate (hba) anions in a square-planar geometry. In the centrosymmetric dinuclear species, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by two bzim ligands and three hba anions in a square-pyramidal geometry; of the two independent hba anions, one bridges two Ni(II) ions with both carboxylate and hydroxyl groups whereas the other coordin-ates in a unidentate manner to the Ni(II) ion. The apical Ni-O(hydrox-yl) bond is 0.39 Å longer than the basal Ni-O(carbox-yl) bonds. The face-to-face separation of 3.326 (9) Å indicates the existence of π-π stacking between parallel bzim ligands of adjacent dinuclear entities. Extensive N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal structure.

The dimeric complex is located on a crystallographic twofold axis and each Ni atom displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The crystal structure is stabilized via intra-molecular hydrogen bonding of the bridging water mol-ecule and the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms, and by C-H⋯O and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances between neighbouring phenanthroline ring systems and between the benzene ring of a 4-methyl-benzoate unit and a phenanthroline ring system are 3.662 (2) and 3.611 (3) Å, respectively].

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(C(8)H(8)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], is centrosymmetric with the Ni(II) ion located on a centre of symmetry. It contains two 4-(methyl-amino)benzoate (PMAB) anions and four coordinated water mol-ecules. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by two O atoms of the PMAB anions in the axial positions. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.
