ABSTRACT: In the title salt, C(9)H(9)N(2) (+)·Br(-), the ethynyl groups are nearly anti-parallel to each other [the angle between the two ethynyl groups is179.7 (2)°]. No classical hydrogen bonds or π-π inter-actions are observed. The mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds. The bromide anions are involved in inter-actions with three H atoms.

Project description:The title structure, (C(11)H(20)BrN(2))[Ag(CN)(2))], is built up from an approximately C(2v)-symmetric imidazolium cation and a nearly linear dicyanidoargentate anion [N-Ag-N = 176.6 (9)° and Ag-C-N = 178.8 (9) and 177.2 (11)°]. These two constituents are linked by a remarkably short inter-action between the Br atom of the imidazolium cation [C-Br = 1.85 (3) Å] and one N atom of the cyanidoargentate anion [Br⋯N = 2.96 (2) Å], which is much less than the sum of the van der Waals radii (3.40 Å). The crystal studied was twinned by merohedry.

Project description:In the unit cell of the title compound, (C21H27N2)3[CoBr4]Br·6CHCl3, the tetrabromidocobaltate(II) anion and the bromide anion are located on a crystallographic threefold rotation axis. For the [CoBr4](2-) group, the axis runs through one of the Br ligands and the Co(II) atom. All other structure moieties lie on general sites. Various tris-(1,3-dimesityl-4,5-di-hydro-1H-imidazol-3-ium) structures with different counter-ions have been reported. In the title compound, the N-C-N angle is 113.7 (5)°, with short C-N bond lengths of 1.297 (7) and 1.307 (7) Å. The two mesityl planes make a dihedral angle of 34.6 (1)° and the dihedral angles between the mesityl and N-C-N planes are 82.0 (1) and 88.5 (1)°, respectively. The imidazoline ring is almost planar, with atom deviations in the range 0.003 (5)-0.017 (5) Å from the best plane; the mean deviation is 0.012 (5) Å. In the crystal, non-covalent inter-actions of the C-H⋯Br type occur between the Br(-) anion and the cation, as well as between the [CoBr4](2-) anion and both the chloro-form solvent mol-ecules. These H⋯A distances are slightly shorter than the sum of van der Waals radii.

Project description:The title salt, C3H5N2 (+)·C10H6NO4 (-), was obtained during a study of the co-crystallization of N'-[bis-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl-ene]isonicotinohydrazide with (1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)acetic acid under aqueous conditions. The 1,3-dioxoisoindolinyl ring system of the anion is essentially planar [maximum deviation = 0.023 (2) Å]. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked via classical N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. Weak C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.4728 (13) and 3.7339 (13) Å] also occur in the crystal.
