The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, weak π-π stacking occurs between the phenol rings of inversion-related mol-ecules, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.7731 (14) Å.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(11)Br(2)NO, was prepared by the condensation of benzyl-amine and 3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde. The crystal structure is stabilized by aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions between the phenol rings of neighbouring mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.530 (5) Å]. In addition, the stacked mol-ecules exhibit inter-molecular C-H⋯π and intra-molecular O-H⋯N inter-actions.

Project description:There are two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(19)H(22)N(2)O. Both mol-ecules have an E conformation about their C=N bonds and both piperdine rings adopt chair conformations with their N atoms adopting pyramidal geometries [bond angle sums = 329.8?(4) and 330.2?(4)°]. Both mol-ecules feature an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring. The dihedral angles between the phenyl and benzene ring planes are 45.97?(18) and 66.0?(2)°. Short O-H?O contacts occur in the crystal.
