ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Mn(2)Ni(C(17)H(14)Br(2)N(2)O(2))(2)(CN)(4)(H(2)O)(2)] or [{Mn(C(17)H(14)Br(2)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)}(2)(?-CN)(2){Ni(CN)(2)}], each Mn(III) atom is chelated by a Schiff base ligand via two N and two O atoms and is additionally coordinated by a water mol-ecule to give a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Two such Mn(III) ions are linked by a square-planar Ni(CN)(4) unit, which lies on an inversion centre. A two-dimensional network is formed by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, [CuNa(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(ClO(4))(CH(3)OH)], is almost planar with mean deviation of 5.2 (8)°. The coordination environment of the Cu(II) ion is distorted square-planar and it is N(2)O(2)-chelated by the 6,6'-dimeth-oxy-2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate Schiff base ligand. The Na atom is chelated by the four O atoms of the Schiff base ligand, and coordinated by a methanol mol-ecule and a perchlorate anion. The six-coordinate Na atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.697 (5) and 0.303 (5). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding occurs.

Project description:In the bimetallic cyanide-bridged title complex, [Fe(0.98)HoRu(0.02)(CN)(6)(C(3)H(7)NO)(4)(H(2)O)(3)]·H(2)O, the Ho(III) ion is in a slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic arrangement formed by seven O atoms from four dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules and three water mol-ecules, and one N atom from a bridging cyanide group connected with the Fe(III) atom which is octa-hedrally coordinated by six cyanide groups. In the crystal, mol-ecules are held together through O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions to form a three-dimensional framework. Elemental analysis of one of the precursors and the crystal shows that there is a slight contamination of Fe by Ru. The Fe site displays, therefore, small substitutional disorder with site-occupancy factors Fe/Ru = 0.98:0.02. The two methyl groups of two dimethyl-formamide ligands are positionally disordered with site-occupancy factors of 0.44 (3):0.56 (3) and 0.44 (3):0.56 (3).

Project description:The title complex, {[Fe(II)Y(III)(CN)(4)(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(CH(3)OH)(3)]·CH(3)OH·0.5H(2)O}(n), is built up of ladder-like chains oriented along the c axis. Each ladder consists of two strands based on alternating Fe(II) and Y(III) ions connected by cyanide bridges. Two such parallel chains are connected by additional cyanide anions (the 'rungs' of the ladder), which likewise connect Fe(II) and Y(III) ions, such that each [Fe(bipy)(CN)(4)](2-) (bipy is 2,2'-bipyridine) unit coordinates with three Y(III) ions and each Y(III) ion connects with three different [Fe(bipy)(CN)(4)](2-) units. The Fe(II) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry and the Y(III) atom cation is eight-coordinated in a distorted dodeca-hedral environment. The uncoordinated methanol solvent mol-ecules are involved in hydrogen-bonding inter-actions with the one terminal cyanide group and a coordinated methanol mol-ecule from another [Y(III)(NO(3))(CH(3)OH)(3)](2+) unit. Adjacent ladder-like chains are also held together by hydrogen bonds between the terminal cyanide ligands of the [Fe(CN)(4)(bipy)](2-) units in one chain and the OH donors of CH(3)OH ligands from [Y(III)(NO(3))(CH(3)OH)(3)] units in neighboring chains. The water molecule exhibits half-occupation.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(2)Cd(C(17)H(16)N(2)O(2))(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)], contains discrete centrosymmetric hetero-trinuclear mol-ecules in which Ni/Cd atom pairs are triply bridged via O atoms from the SALPD(2-) [N,N'-bis-(salicyl-idene)-1,3-propane-diaminate] and acetate ligands. The central Cd(II) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment formed by four O atoms from two SALPD(2-) ligands in the equatorial plane and two O atoms of two symmetry-related acetate ligands in the axial positions. The symmetry-related Ni(II) ions are in slightly distorted octa-hedral environments, coordinated by two O and two N atoms from tetra-dendate SALPD(2-) ligands in the equatorial plane, while the axial positions are occupied by O atoms from a dimethyl-formamide and an acetate ligand. This results in the formation of three edge-shared octa-hedra in which the Ni⋯Cd distance is 3.1482 (15) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The five-coordinate Zn(II) ion is in a square-pyramidal geometry formed by the donor centers of two imine N atoms, two phenolate O atoms and one of the bridging nitrate O atoms. The Sm(III) center is in a ten-fold coordination of O atoms, involving the phenolate O atoms, two meth-oxy O atoms, one ethanol O atom, and two O atoms from two nitrate anions and one from the bridging nitrate anion. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions generate a layer structure extending parallel to (101).
