Catena-Poly[[chlorido(methyl phenyl sulfide-?S)mercury(II)]-?-chlorido].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [HgCl(2)(C(7)H(8)S)](n), was isolated from the reaction of MeSPh with HgCl(2). The Hg(II) atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry and is coordinated by one S atom and three Cl atoms. Two of the Cl atoms act as bridging ligands between the Hg atoms, forming a two-dimensional polymeric structure.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Hg(2)Cl(4)(C(6)H(12)N(2))](n), each Hg(II) center within the chain is four-coordinated by one terminal Cl atom, two bridging μ(2)-Cl atoms, and one N-atom donor from a μ(2)-1,4-diaza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane (μ(2)-daco) ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The daco ligand acts as an end-to-end bridging ligand and bridges adjacent Hg(II) centers, forming a chain running along [001]. Weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the chains into a three-dimensional network. Comparison of the structural differences with previous findings suggests that the space between the two N donors, as well as the skeletal rigidity in N-heterocyclic linear ligands, may play an important role in the construction of such supra-molecular networks.

The other Hg(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by four Cl? ions. Bridging chloride ions link the Hg(II) ions into a chain propagating in [010]: the Hg-Cl bridging bonds are significantly longer than the terminal bonds. The dihedral angle between the central benzene rings of the ligand is 83.3?(2)°. The packing is consolidated by weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(2)H(3)O(3))Cl(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinate in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. Two O atoms from a chelating glycolate anion, an O atom from a coordinated water mol-ecule and a chloride anion comprise the basal plane. Project description:In the title organometallic polymer, [HgCl(2)(C(26)H(20)NO(3)P)](n), the monodentate 1-(3-nitro-phen-yl)-2-(triphenyl-phospho-ran-yl--idene)ethanone ligand is coordinated to the Hg(II) atom through the methine C atom. The Hg(II) atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by one terminal Cl atom, two bridging Cl atoms, and one C atom from the ylidic ligand, resulting in a polymeric chain parallel to [010]. The terminal Cl atom is more strongly bound to the Hg(II) ion [2.3916?(9)?Å] than the bridging Cl atoms. The bridge is asymmetric, as indicated by the two different Hg-Cl(bridging) bond lengths [2.5840?(8) and 2.7876?(8)?Å]. Intra-molecular C-H?O and weak C-H?Cl contacts stabilize the polymeric chain. In the crystal, adjacent chains inter-act via C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [CdCl(2)(C(9)H(11)NO(2))](n), is a coordination polymer prepared by the hydro-thermal reaction of cadmium(II) chloride and 3-amino-3-phenyl-propanoic acid. Geometric parameters are in the usual ranges. The cadmium cation is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms at equatorial sites and two O atoms from two ligands at the axial sites. The material is composed of one-dimensional extended polymeric chains in which two Cl atoms bridge Cd atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.027?Å) title compound, [Hg(C(7)H(5)O(2))Cl], the Hg(II) atom shows a typical linear coordination by a C atom of the benzene ring and a Cl atom. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure, resulting in chains propagating along the b axis. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin, with a twin ratio of 0.802?(2):0.198?(2).

Project description:In the title compound, {(C(10)H(12)N(3)O(3)S)(2)[CdCl(4)]·H(2)O}(n), the Cd(II) atom is five-coordinate with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry formed by chloride ions. The Cd atom and two of the Cl atoms lie on a mirror plane. The cation is protonated on the amino group N atom; it is not coordinated to cadmium, but is hydrogen bonded to the chlorido ligands. Each water mol-ecule bridges two chlorido ligands, generating ring motifs along the -Cd-Cl-Cd- chains. The isoxazole unit and the amide groups are linked through a pair of N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯N, N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
