ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(10)H(7)Br(2)NO(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·H(2)O, is a binuclear copper(II) complex. Both Cu atoms are four-coordinate in a square-planar geometry. In addition, there is one water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(16)H(11)Br(2)NO(4))(C(3)H(7)NO)](2), there are two unique mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Each Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two O atoms and one N atom from the tridentate ligand L(2-) [LH(2) = (E)-2-(3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxy-benzyl-idene-amino)-2-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)acetic acid] and the O atom of a dimethyl-formamide mol-ecule to give a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The two unique mol-ecules form a dimer through weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In the dimer, the Cu?Cu distance is 3.712?(1)?Å. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules form a one-dimensional chain through C-H?O hydrogen bonds. These are further aggregated into a three-dimensional network by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(10)Br(2)N(2)O(3)·H(2)O, was synthesized by the reaction of 3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde with an equimolar amount of 4-hydroxy-benzohydrazide in methanol. The structure comprises a Schiff base unit and a water mol-ecule of crystallization. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings in the Schiff base is 1.3 (3)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecule serving as both donor and acceptor. As a result, layers are formed, which are approximately parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:In the structure of the title complex, [Cu(C(7)H(5)O(2))(OH)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(C(7)H(6)O(2))]·H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry with one O atom of a hydroxide group, one O atom of a benzoate anion and two N atoms of a 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and one O atom of a benzoic acid mol-ecule located at the apical site. The title complex was refined with a metal-coordinated OH group and a 'free' benzoic acid molecule, although it can be assumed that the proton is delocalized between the OH and the COOH group. The uncoordinated water mol-ecule is equally disordered over two positions. The structure displays O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

The Re(V) coordination is completed with a methano-late ligand and a 2-hydroxy-phenyl-imido(2-) ligand. There are two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure involves O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. One N and one C atom are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.7 and 0.3.

The methanol mol-ecule forms an O-H⋯N hydrogen bond to an N atom of the 4,4'-bipyridine solvent mol-ecule; the hy-droxy group of the Schiff base forms an O-H⋯N hydrogen bond to the other N atom of another mol-ecule. The two hydrogen bonds leading to the formation of a helical chain running along the b axis.

Project description:The reaction of lead acetate, 4-hydroxy-benzoic acid and 2,2'-bipyridine in aqueous solution gave the title complex, [Pb(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·H(2)O. The asymmetric unit contains one Pb(II) atom, two 4-hydroxy-benzoate ligands, one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The Pb(II) atom is hexa-coordinated in a distorted tetra-gonal-bipyramidal geometry and is chelated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms and two N atoms. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, involving the uncoordinated water, the carboxyl-ate O atoms and hydr-oxy O atoms, produce a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The Mo(VI) atom in the title co-crystal, [Mo(C(14)H(12)N(2)O(4))O(2)(H(2)O)]·0.5C(10)H(8)N(2), is O,N,O'-chelated by the deprotonated Schiff base and coordinated by the oxide and water O atoms in an octa-hedral geometry. The five-membered chelate ring is planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.019 Å), but the six-membered chelate ring is puckered (r.m.s. deviation = 0.108 Å). Two mononuclear mol-ecules are linked across a center of inversion by an O-H(water)⋯O hydrogen bond; adjacent dinuclear units are linked by an water-4,4'-bipyridine O-H⋯N hydrogen bond, generating a linear chain structure. The 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.
