ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Pd(C(11)H(9)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the palladium(II) cation lies on an inversion centre and is hexa-coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two (1-carboxyl-atomethyl-1,3-benzimidazol-3-ium-3-yl)acetate ligands and four water mol-ecules, with a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules together.

Project description:In the title polymeric coordination compound, {[Co(C14H10NO4)2(H2O)2]·2H2O} n , the Co(II) ion resides on an inversion center and exhibits a distorted o-cta-hedral coordination geometry defined by four O atoms from two pairs of equivalent monodentate carboxyl-ate groups from 2-[3-(4-carboxyl-atophen-yl)pyridin-1-ium-1-yl]acetate ligands and by two O atoms from two equivalent coordinating water mol-ecules. The zwitterionic di-carboxyl-ate ligands serve as bridges with two monodentate carboxyl-ate and the metal ions are linked by double bridges, forming polymeric chains running along [01-1]. The chains are further stabilized and associated into layers parallel to (011) through intra- and inter-chain hydrogen bonding and π-π stacking inter-actions [inter-planar and centroid-centroid distances of 3.658 (3) Å and 3.653 (2) Å, respectively].

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(3)(H(2)O)]C(2)HCl(2)O(2)·2H(2)O, was prepared by reaction of copper(II) 2,2-dichloro-acetic acid and benzimidazole in ethanol solution. The compound shows a regular trigonal-bipyramidal stereochemistry. The Cu(II) centre possesses a five-coordinated environment, coordinated by three N atoms from the three benzimidazole ligands and two O atoms, one from the dichloro-acetate ligand and the other from the coordinated water mol-ecule. The mol-ecular structure and packing are stabilized by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The Cl atoms are disordered over two sites, with relative occupancies 0.67 (3) and 0.33 (3).

The water-coordinated metal atom is bonded to four sulfate ions; one of them is monodentate and two function in a chelating mode. The fourth is also chelating but it uses one of the other two O atoms to bind to an adjacent metal atom, generating a polyanionic chain. The cations are linked to the polyanionic chain as well as to the uncoordinated water mol-ecules, resulting in an O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the binuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [Er(2)(C(12)H(14)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(15)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, contains one Er(III) atom, one coordinated water mol-ecule, one 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, two differently coordinated adamantane-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate (H(2)L) ligands and one lattice water mol-ecule. The Er(III) ion is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from bridging L(2-), one O atom from HL(-), one O atom from the coordinated water and two N atoms from a phen ligand. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions result in the formation of chains which are further linked into a layer-like network by π-π stacking inter-actions centroid-centroid distance = 3.611 (3) Å] between adjacent phen ligands belonging to neighbouring chains. The carboxy group of the HL(-) ligand is equally disordered over two positions.
