ABSTRACT: The title compound, (C(22)H(22)F(2)N(4))[CuBr(3)], crystallizes with the cation situated on an inversion center and the anion on a twofold rotation axis along one Cu-Br bond. The two imidazole rings are in an anti configuration. The anion has a trigonal planar coordination geometry.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(20)N(4) (2+)·2BF(4) (-), was prepared by the anion exchange of a dibromide ionic liquid with sodium tetra-fluoro-borate. The asymmetric unit contains one half of the imidazolium cation, which lies about an inversion centre at the mid-point of the central C-C bond of the linking butyl chain. The two planar imidazole rings (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0013 Å) are strictly parallel and separated by 2.625 (7) Å [vertical distance between the centroids of two imidazole rings], giving the mol-ecule a stepped appearance. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(2)(C(4)H(9))(2)(C(12)H(20))(2)], has two 1-stannacyclo-penta-diene skeletons related by inversion symmetry located at the mid-point of the Sn-Sn bond [2.7682 (2) Å]. Thus, the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. The planarity of the stannacyclo-penta-diene ring is illustrated by the dihedral angle of 0.3 (1)°, defined by the C(4) and C-Sn-C planes. To avoid steric repulsion, the two stannole rings are oriented in an anti fashion through the Sn-Sn bond. These structural features are similar to those of other bis-tannoles.

The cations are L-shaped with the benzene rings being inclined to one another by 88.82 (16)° in cation A and 87.03 (16)° in cation B. The imidazole rings make dihedral angles of 35.7 (2) and 32.83 (18)° with the attached benzene rings in cation A, and 30.14 (19) and 31.96 (18)° in cation B. In the crystal, the cations are linked via C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. π-π inter-actions involving the benzene and imidazole rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.602 (2) and 3.723 (2) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C44H30O2, contains two independent mol-ecules in which the terminal rings of the terphenyl element are inclined at angles of 36.3 (1) and 22.5 (1)° with respect to the central ring and the dihedral angles between the fluorenyl units are 72.3 (1) and 62.8 (1)°. In the crystal, pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into inversion dimers. The hy-droxy H atoms not involved in these hydrogen bonds form O-H⋯π inter-actions in which the central terphenyl rings act as acceptors. Weak C-H⋯O contacts and π-π [centroid-centroid distance = 4.088 (2) Å] stacking inter-actions also occur. Taking into account directed non-covalent bonding between the molecules, the crystal is constructed of supramolecular strands extending along the a-axis direction.
