The first oxazoline adduct of Zn(acac)(2): bis-(acetyl-acetonato-κO,O')(2-phenyl-2-oxazoline-κN)zinc(II).

ABSTRACT: The title material, [Zn(C(5)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(9)H(9)NO)], was synthesized by the treatment of bis-(acetyl-acetonato)zinc(II) monohydrate with 2-phenyl-2-oxazoline. The Zn atom is coordinated by two chelating acetyl-acetonate groups and one oxazoline ligand in the apical position of a slightly distorted square-pyramidal metal-ligand geometry.

The equatorial positions are occupied by four O atoms of two acetyl-acetonate ligands, while the axial positions are occupied by the N atom of the thio-cyanate anion and the O atom of the methanol mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules are linked by an inter-molecular O-H⋯S hydrogen bond, forming a chain running along [101].

Project description:The title complex, [Er(C(32)H(16)N(8))(C(5)H(7)O(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))], possesses a mirror plane and the asymmetric unit is half of the mol-ecule. The Er(III) cation, lying on the mirror plane, is eight-coordinated by two O atoms from acetyl-acetone, two N (N(phen)) atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline and four isoindole N (N(iso)) atoms from the phthalocyanine ligand in an anti-prismatic geometry. The Er-N distances are in the range 2.376 (5)-2.529 (4) Å and the Er-O distance is 2.272 (3) Å. Notably, the Er-N(iso) bonds are shorter than the Er-N(phen) bonds, but longer than the Er-O bonds.

Project description:The title mixed-ligand oxidovanadium(IV) compound, [VO(C(5)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(8)H(9)N(3))], contains a V(IV) atom in a distorted octahedral coordination, which is typical for such complexes. The vanadyl group and the N-heterocyclic ligand are cis to each other. The coordination bond is located at the endocyclic N atom of the benzimidazole ligand. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between the exo-NH(2) group H atoms and acetyl-acetonate O atoms stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Nb(CH(3)O)(3)(C(5)H(7)O(2))Cl], the Nb(V) atom is coordinated by two O atoms from the chelating acetyl-acetonate ligand, three O atoms from the methano-late groups and one chloride ligand. Project description:The binuclear molecule of the title compound, [Hf(2)(C(10)H(6)F(3)O(2))(6)(OH)(2)]·2C(3)H(7)NO, lies across an inversion centre and contains a Hf(IV) atom which is eight-coordinated and surrounded by three chelating β-diketonato tris-(4,4,4-trifluoro-1-phenyl-acetyl-acetonate (tfba(-)) ligands and two bridging OH(-) groups in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. The Hf-O bond lengths vary from 2.073 (2) to 2.244 (2) Å and the O-Hf-O bite angles vary from 73.49 (9) to 75.60 (9)°. Weak O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed between the bridging hy-droxy groups and the dimethylformamide solvent mol-ecules. The unit cell contains solvent-accessible voids of 131 Å(3), but the residual electron density in the difference Fourier map suggests no solvent mol-ecule occupies this void.
