ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(11)H(8)N(2)O, crystallizes with two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit which are approximately perpendicular to each other [79.97 (6)°]. The indole ring system is planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.010 (1) Å]. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯N and N-H⋯O inter-actions.
