The coordination environment of the Pd atom shows a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The crystal structure exhibits weak inter-molecular Pd⋯Cl inter-actions, with Pd⋯Cl distances of 3.6912 (6) Å. A chain-like arrangement of mol-ecules realized by inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds is observed along [010].

Project description:In the title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O(2))(2)], the Pd(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted square-planar geometry by two N atoms from two 4-nitro-aniline ligands and two Cl atoms in a trans arrangement. Inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the amino groups and chloride anions lead to a chain along [100]. These chains are further self-assembled into a three-dimensional network through N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)], the Pd(II) ion is four-coordinated in an essentially square-planar environment defined by two N atoms from two quinoline ligands and two Cl(-) anions. The Pd atom is located on an inversion centre, and thus the asymmetric unit contains one half of the complex; the PdN(2)Cl(2) unit is exactly planar. The dihedral angle between the PdN(2)Cl(2) unit and quinoline ligand is 85.63 (8)°. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are stacked into columns along the b axis. In the columns, several inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between the six-membered rings are present, the shortest ring centroid-centroid distance being 3.764 (3) Å between pyridine rings.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(11)H(9)N)(2)], contains one half of a neutral Pd(II) complex, with the complete mol-ecule generated by the application of a twofold rotation axis; the N-Pd-N atoms lie on the axis. The Pd(II) ion has a trans-Cl(2)N(2) square-planar coordination geometry defined by two N atoms from two 4-phenyl-pyridine ligands and two Cl(-) anions. In the refinement, the pyridine ring and the phenyl ring were found to be disordered over two sites with the site-occupancy factors being 0.53 (2) and 0.51 (1), respectively, for the major components.

The Pd-N and Pd-Cl distances are 2.023 (2) and 2.2977 (7) Å, respectively, and the average N-Pd-Cl angle is 90°. The dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules play a key role in the crystal structure by bridging the complex mol-ecules via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming tapes running along the b axis. C-H⋯O inter-actions also contribute to the cohesion of the crystal.
