ABSTRACT: In the title compound, 2C(3)H(7)N(6) (+)·C(4)H(4)O(6) (2-)·2H(2)O, in which the complete anion is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry, there are O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between neighbouring moieties, forming layers parallel to the bc plane. In addition, π-π contacts [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6541 (9) Å] between the six-membered rings of the melamine cations are observed.

Supra-molecular layers parallel to (12-1) are formed through extensive inter-molecular hydrogen bonding of the types O-H⋯O, N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O between the components.

Project description:In the title compound, C(3)H(7)N(6) (+)·C(7)H(5)O(5) (-)·2H(2)O, the melaminium and benzoate ions are approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation of the non-hydrogen atoms is 0.093 Å) and there is a strong C(2) (2)(8) hydrogen-bonding embrace between them. The centre of symmetry generates a second acid-base pair which is bound to the first by a C(2) (2)(8) (N-H⋯N) embrace common between melamine mol-ecules in similar compounds. Further extensive hydrogen bonding assembles the components into a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network.

Project description:In the title hydrated molecular salt, C(12)H(9)N(2) (+)·C(4)H(5)O(6) (-)·2H(2)O, the cation is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.014 Å); the carbon skeleton of the anion assumes a trans conformation [C-C-C-C torsion angle = -179.86 (14)°]. The carboxyl end of one hydrogen tartrate anion forms a short hydrogen bond to the carboxyl-ate end of another anion [O⋯O = 2.508 (2) Å] in a head-to-tail manner, forming a chain; the chains and water mol-ecules inter-act, generating an O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded layer. The cation binds to the layer by an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title compound, 2C(5)H(8)N(3) (+)·C(4)H(4)O(6) (2-)·H(2)O, the two cations are essentially planar [maximum deviations = 0.023 (1) and 0.026 (1) Å]. In one of the cations, the protonated N atom and one of the amino group H atoms are hydrogen bonded to one of the carboxyl groups of the dianion through a pair of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif. In the crystal structure, the tartrate anions and water mol-ecules are linked into chains along the c axis by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The cations further link the anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional extended structure by a network of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is also stabilized by weak inter-molecular π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6950 (6) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, 2C(8)H(20)N(+)·2C(4)H(5)O(6) (-)·C(4)H(6)O(6)·H(2)O, the presence of the two tetra-ethyl-ammonium cations is balanced by two hydrogen l-tartrate anions. Also present in the asymmetric unit are a mol-ecule of l-tartaric acid and a water mol-ecule. The various components are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, two-dimensional networks are formed via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the water mol-ecule, the hydrogen l-tartrate anions and the l-tartaric acid mol-ecules. These layers, which stack along [001], are separated by tetra-ethyl-ammonium cations. The latter are also involved in C-H⋯O inter-actions with the anions and the l-tartaric acid and water mol-ecules participating in the two-dimensional network.

Bis(1,2,3-benzotriazolium) sulfate dihydrate.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title hydrated salt, 2C6H6N3 (+)·SO4 (2-)·2H2O, there are two independent sulfate ions, one lying on a twofold axis, and the other in a general position. There are three independent benzotriazolium cations and three independent water mol-ecules. The sulfate ion in a general position forms hydrogen-bonded chains of stoichiometry SO4 (2-)·3H2O in the b-axis direction. The sulfate on the twofold axis is unhydrated and accepts hydrogen bonds from four surrounding benzotriazoles. The benzotriazolium cations form two types of stacks along b. One stack contains only one type of independent cation, related by inversion centers. The other stack contains two alternating independent cations and no symmetry. The two types of stacks have orientations which are rotated by about 79° in the ac plane. 12 symmetrically distinct hydrogen bonds of type N-H⋯O(sulfate), N-H⋯O(water), O-H⋯O(sulfate) and O-H⋯O(water), with donor-acceptor distances in the range 2.5490 (13)-2.7871 (12) Å, form a three-dimensional array.

Project description:In the structure of the title salt, 2C(3)H(5)N(2) (+)·C(6)H(8)O(8) (2-)·2H(2)O, the galacta-rate dianions have crystallographic inversion symmetry and together with the water mol-ecules of solvation form hydrogen-bonded sheet substructures which extend along (110). The imidazolium cations link these sheets peripherally down c through carboxyl-ate O-H-N and N'-H⋯O(hy-droxy) bridges, giving a three-dimensional framework structure.

In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The bis-(benzimidazol-1-yl)methane mol-ecule of the title compound, C(15)H(12)N(4)·2H(2)O, displays a trans conformation with a twofold axis running through the methylene C atom. Two adjacent water mol-ecules are bonded to this mol-ecule through O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a trimer. Adjacent trimers are connected together via C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming a chain running along the b-axis direction. Two such chains are joined together via π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.556 (2) Å], forming double chains, which are connected via the water mol-ecules through C-H⋯O associations, forming a sheet structure. The sheets are stacked on top of each other along the a-axis direction and connected through O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional ABAB layer network structure.
