The phenol OH group is intra-molecularly hydrogen bonded to the nitro group that is coplanar with the ring, generating an S(6) graph-set motif.

Project description:The title compound, C(6)H(5)Cl(2)N, is almost planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0146 Å for all atoms except for the 5-choloromethyl Cl atom. The offset Cl atom lies above this plane with a Cl-C-C angle of 111.11 (17)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via inter-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(11)N(2)O(+)·C(9)H(9)O(4) (-), was synthesized by the reaction of 4-meth-oxy-benzamidine (4-amidino-anisole) and 2,6-dimeth-oxy-benzoic acid. The structure consists of non-planar pairs of hydrogen-bonded 4-meth-oxy-benzamidinium cations and 2,6-dimeth-oxy-benzoate anions. In the cation, the amidinium group is tilted by 27.94 (10)° with respect to the benzene ring. In the anion, the sterically bulky ortho-meth-oxy substituents force the carb-oxy-ate group to be twisted away from the plane of the benzene ring by 73.24 (6)°. The ions are further associated in the crystal into chains along the b-axis direction by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C(26)H(27)ClN(2)O, the piperidine ring has a chair conformation and all of the ring substituents at Csp(3) atoms occupy equatorial positions. The dihedral angle formed between the phenyl rings is 48.11?(9)°. The chloro-benzene ring occupies a position orthogonal to the meth-oxy(methyl-idene)amine residue [N-O-C-C torsion angle = -87.90?(15)°]. The conformation about the imine C=N bond [1.278?(2)?Å] is E, and the chloro substituent is anti to the piperidine N atom. Helical supra-molecular chains along [010] are sustained by C-H?? inter-actions in the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, C(7)H(7)Cl(2)N, a halogenated derivative of 2,6-lutidine, the C-Cl vectors of the chloro-methyl groups point at opposite sides of the aromatic plane to each other. A weak dispersive Cl⋯Cl contact [3.4342 (3) Å] connects the mol-ecules into a chain along the [101] direction. A π-π inter-action with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.7481 (5) Å is also observed.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 4-(3-meth-oxy-phen-yl)-2,6-di-phenyl-pyridine.

Project description:The title compound, C24H19NO, was obtained via the reaction of (1E,2E)-3-(3-meth-oxy-phen-yl)-1-phenyl-prop-2-en-1-one with ethyl 2-oxo-propano-ate, using NH4I as a catalyst. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group I2/a. In the mol-ecule, the four rings are not in the same plane, the pyridine ring being inclined to the benzene rings by 17.26 (6), 56.16 (3) and 24.50 (6)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯π inter-actions into a three-dimensional network. To further analyse the inter-molecular inter-actions, a Hirshfeld surface analysis was performed. Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the most abundant contributions to the crystal packing are from H⋯H (50.4%), C⋯H/H⋯C (37.9%) and O⋯H/H⋯O (5.1%) inter-actions.
