ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(15)H(12)N(3)O(2)S)(2)(NO(3))(CH(3)OH)]NO(3), has two Cu(II) centres coordinated by two deprotonated 2-[(benzothia-zol-2-yl)hydrazonometh-yl]-6-methoxy-phenol ligands, a methanol mol-ecule and a nitrate ion. Both Cu(II) centres are penta-coordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal fashion. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [EuSm(C(12)H(9)O(2))(6)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the metal site is statistically occupied (50:50) by Eu and Sm atoms, forming a centrosymmetric complex. The metal site is nine-coordinate, in a distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic coordination geometry. Mol-ecules are linked into three chains by C-H⋯π interactions and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The combination of these chains generates a three-dimensional framework structure. One of the bridging naphthalene-1-ace-tate ligands was found to be disordered over two sites; the site occupancies for the naphthylmethyl group refined to 0.628 (14) and 0.372 (14).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(2)(C(7)H(4)FO(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)]·C(7)H(5)FO(2), consists of a binuclear Zn(II) complex bridged by two carboxyl groups of 2-fluoro-benzoate (FB) anions and a 2-fluoro-benzoic acid mol-ecule. The two bridging FB anions, one chelating FB anion and one nicotinamide (NA) ligand coordinate to one Zn cation with a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, while the two bridging FB anions, one monodentate FB anion and one NA ligand coordinate to the other Zn cation with a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Within the binuclear mol-ecule, the pyridine rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 19.41 (14)°. In the crystal structure, the uncoordinated 2-fluorobenzoic acid mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, forming centrosymmetric supra-molecular dimers. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. The π-π contacts between nearly parallel pyridine and benzene rings [dihedral angles of 19.41 (14) and 12.72 (16)°, respectively, centroid-centroid distances = 3.701 (2) and 3.857 (3) Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure. The fluorine atoms in two FB ligands are disordered over two positions, with occupancy ratios of 0.70:0.30.

Project description:In the tetranuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [Pb(4)(NO(3))(8)(C(11)H(10)N(2))(4)], irregular PbN(2)O(5) and PbN(2)O(4) coordination polyhedra occur. The hepta-coordinated lead(II) ion is bonded to two bidentate and one monodentate nitrate ion and one bidentate 6-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine (mbpy) ligand. The six-coordinate lead(II) ion is bonded to one bidentate and two monodentate nitrate anions and one mbpy ligand. In the crystal, bridging nitrate anions lead to infinite chains propagating in [111]. A number of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds may stabilize the structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(2)(CO(3))(C(5)H(6)N(2))(8)(H(2)O)]Cl(2)·5H(2)O, one of the the Ni(II) ions is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry, with the equatorial plane defined by four pyridine N atoms from four amino-pyridine ligands, the axial positions being occupied by one water O and a carbonate O atom. The other Ni(II) ion is also six-coordinated, by four other pyridine N atoms from four other amino-pyridine ligands and two carbonate O atoms to complete a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into an infinite three-dimensional network by O-H⋯O, N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O, O-H⋯N, C-H⋯O, C-H⋯N and C/N-H⋯π inter-actions involving the pyridine rings.

Project description:In the title heteronuclear Zn(II)-Sm(III) complex, [SmZn(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CH(2)OH)], with the hexa-dentate Schiff base compartmental ligand N,N'-bis-(3-methoxy-salicyl-idene)ethyl-enediamine (H(2)L), the Sm(III) and Zn(II) ions are triply bridged by two phenolate O atoms from the Schiff base ligand and one nitrate anion. The five-coordinate Zn(II) ion is in a square-pyramidal geometry formed by the donor centers of two imine N atoms, two phenolate O atoms and one of the bridging nitrate O atoms. The Sm(III) center is in a ten-fold coordination of O atoms, involving the phenolate O atoms, two meth-oxy O atoms, one ethanol O atom, and two O atoms from two nitrate anions and one from the bridging nitrate anion. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions generate a layer structure extending parallel to (101).

One of the Zn(II) atoms is penta-coordinated by two O,S-chelating tri-tert-butoxy-silanethiol-ate units and one N atom of a 4,4'-bipyridine ligand, and the other Zn(II) atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two tri-tert-butoxy-silanethiol-ate anions acting as monodentate S ligands, the methanol O atom and the other N atom of the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand. This non-symmetrical coordination induces twisting and bending in the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand and introduces chirality into the system. The crystal studied exhibits inversion twinning. One tert-butyl group is disordered approximately equally over two positions.

The Tb(III) cation is coordinated by six O atoms from six methacrylate anions and two O atoms from a chelating nitrate anion in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. Each Co(II) ion is coordinated by three O atoms from three methyl-acrylate anions and two N atoms of a 2,2'-bypiridine ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. Futhermore, weak C-H⋯O inter-actions link the chains to form a supra-molecular network.

The Cu(II) atom has a weak inter-action with another O atom of the nitrate group. The two O atoms of the tridentate Schiff base ligand are in a trans arrangement. O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the uncoordinated water mol-ecule are observed.
