ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title hydrated salt, C(5)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(12)H(10)O(2)P(-)·H(2)O, the cations, anions and water mol-ecules connected by N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a layer along the bc plane; the phenyl rings protrude into the space between the layers. The dihedral angle between rings of anion is 86.1 (1)°.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C(6)H(9)N(2) (+)·SO(4) (2-)·H(2)O, contains two isomeric protonated amino-methyl-pyridine cations, a sulfate anion and a solvent water mol-ecule. The cations are in the iminium tautomeric form. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, N-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. Additional stabilization is provided by weak ?-? stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.758?(2) and 3.774?(1)?Å.

Bis(4-amino-pyridinium) sulfate monohydrate.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C(5)H(7)N(2) (+)·SO(4) (2-)·H(2)O, contains two 4-amino-pyridinium cations (A and B), a sulfate dianion and a water mol-ecule. One of the 4-amino-pyridinium cations (B) is disordered over two orientations with refined site occupancies of 0.568 (4) and 0.432 (4). The non-H atoms of the 4-amino-pyridinium cations are essentially coplanar, with a maximum deviation of 0.055 (1) Å (in cation A), 0.022 (3) Å (for the major component in cation B) and 0.009 (3) Å (for the minor component in cation B). In the crystal, the sulfate O atoms link the 4-amino-pyridinium cations and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network via inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further consolidated by N-H⋯O(water) and C-H⋯O(water) hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The reaction of 4-amino-pyridine and oleum yielded the title hydrated zwitterion, C(5)H(6)N(2)O(3)S·H(2)O. There are two formula units in the asymmetric unit. The H and non-H atoms of both zwitterions lie on a mirror plane except for one sulfonate O atom. The water mol-ecules are also situated on a mirror plane. In the crystal, the zwitterions and water mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the non-centrosymmetric structure of the title compound, (C(5)H(7)N(2))[Cr(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O, the Cr(III) ion has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment defined by two chelating oxalato ligands in equatorial positions and two water mol-ecules in axial positions. An extensive three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonds involving all the water mol-ecules, the 4-amino-pyridinium cation and some of the oxalate O atoms contributes to the stabilization of the structure. π-π inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings provide additional stability of the crystal packing, with a closest distance between pyridine mean planes of 3.613 (1) Å.

O-Pivaloyl diphenyl-seleno-phosphinate.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(19)O(2)PSe, was obtained in the reaction of the diphenyl-monoseleno-phosphinic acid ammonium salt with pivaloyl chloride. The P-Se bond length of 2.0769 (11) Å is normal, while the P-O bond length of 1.650 (3) Å is longer than in related O-alkyl and O-aryl derivatives. One phenyl ring is periplanar to the Se-P-C plane, while the dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is ca 73°. The carbonyl group is in a synperiplanar position [torsion angle = 8.9 (6)°] to one of the methyl groups of the pivaloyl group. This is the first O-acyl derivative of diphenyl-monoseleno-phosphinic acid characterized by X-ray structural analysis.
