Tetra-aqua-bis(pyridine-?N)cobalt(II) bis-[4-amino-N-(6-chloro-pyridazin-3-yl)benzene-sulfonamidate].

ABSTRACT: The structure of the title compound, [Co(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(10)H(8)ClN(4)O(2)S)(2), consists of a discrete tetra-aqua-bis(pyridine-?N)cobalt(II) cation and two 4-amino-N-(6-chloro-pyridazin-3-yl)benzene-sulfonamidate anions. In the cation, the Co(II) ion sits on an inversion centre and is octa-hedrally coordinated by two pyridine N atoms and four O atoms. A two-dimensional network parallel to (010) is formed via inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N, N-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C7H4ClO2)2(C5H5N)2(H2O)], the Co(II) atom is six-coordinated by three O atoms from a bidentate and a monodentate 4-chloro-benzoate ligand, two N atoms from two pyridine ligands and a water O atom, giving a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8924 (17) Å] into a chain along [010]. Between adjacent chains, π-π inter-actions occur between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.898 (2) Å], giving an overall two-dimensional architecture.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, [CoCl2(C5H5N)2(H2O)2], has -1 symmetry with the Co(II) ion situated on an inversion centre. The cation has a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment and is surrounded by two N and two Cl atoms in the equatorial plane, while the coordinating water O atoms occupy the axial positions. The crystal exhibits nonmerohedral twinning with two domain states, the volume fractions of which were refined to 0.883 (2) and 0.117 (3). The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bond inter-actions, forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to (001). The crystal packing also features π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings, with centroid-centroid separations of 3.493 (3) and 3.545 (3) Å.

The face-to-face separation of 3.561 (5) Å between parallel pyridine rings indicates the existence of weak π-π stacking between the pyridine rings. The metals are all six-coordinate with distorted octahedral geometries. The [Co(II)(dipicCl)(H(2)O)(3)] complexes are neutral, with one tridentate ligand and three water molecules. The [Co(II)(dipicCl)(2)](2-) complexes each have two tridentate ligands. The [Na(2)Co(II)(H(2)O)(12)](4+) cluster has a central Co(II) ion which is coordinated to six water molecules and lies on a crystallographic inversion center. Four of the water molecules bridge to two sodium ions, each of which have three other water molecules coordinated along with an O atom from the [Co(II)(dipicCl)(2)](2-) complex. In the crystal structure, the various units are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. Two water molecules are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The title complex, [Co(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(7)H(4)FO(2))(2), contains one Co(II) atom (site symmetry ), two monodentate nicotin-amide (NA) ligands, four coordinated water mol-ecules and two 2-fluoro-benzoate (FB) anions. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Co atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl group and the adjacent benzene ring is 29.8 (3)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 7.97 (12)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming an infinite three-dimensional network. π-π Contacts between the pyridine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.673 (3) Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Ni(C(8)Cl(4)O(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(3)(H(2)O)]·C(5)H(5)N}(n), contains two independent nickel(II) cations displaying a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by the N atoms of three pyridine mol-ecules, the O atom of a water mol-ecule, and O atoms of two monodentate μ(2)-bridging tetra-chloro-terephthalate dianions. The metal atoms are linked by the dianions into zigzag chains running parallel to [11]. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](2)[Co(H(2)O)(6)](C(11)H(7)O(8))(2)·4H(2)O, was obtanied by the reaction of cobalt acetate with 3,5-bis-(carb-oxy-meth-oxy)benzoic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline. The asymmetric unit contains one tetra-aqua-(1,10-phenanthroline)cobalt(II) cation, one half of a hexa-aqua-cobalt(II) cation that is completed by inversion symmetry, one 3,5-bis-(carboxyl-atometh-oxy)benzoate trianion and two lattice water mol-ecules. The two Co(II) atoms each show a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination (CoO(6) and CoO(4)N(2)). The cations, anions and lattice water mol-ecules are linked by an intricate network of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional structure.
