4,4'-Bis(dimethyl-amino)benzhydryl phenyl sulfone.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(23)H(26)N(2)O(2)S, the sulfur-bound phenyl group is aligned approximately parallel to one of the two rings of the benzhydryl group, making a dihedral angle of 1.15 (9)°. The other forms a dihedral angle of 59.20 (9)° with the phenyl group bound to the S atom. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into strands along [100] by weak C-H⋯O contacts. Weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:In the title salt, C(20)H(22)N(2) (2+)·2C(12)H(4)N(4) (-), the cations and anions stack along the b axis into segregated columns. In the cation, which has a crystallographically imposed centre of symmetry, the dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridine rings is 89.14 (4)°. Centrosymmetrically related anions form dimers by π-π stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid separations of 3.874 (4) Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-columnar C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title Pb-based coordination polymer, [Pb2(C24H16N2O8)(H2O)2] n , consists of one Pb(II) cation, half of a 4,4'-(1,4-phenyl-ene)bis-(2,6-dimethyl-pyridine-3,5-di-carb-oxyl-ate (L (4-)) ligand and one coordinating water mol-ecule. The centers of the benzene ring of the ligand and the four-membered Pb/O/Pb/O ring are located on centers of inversion. The Pb(II) ion is coordinated in form of a distorted polyhedron by seven O atoms from four separate L (4-) ligands and by one water O atom. The PbO7 polyhedra share O atoms, forming infinite zigzag [PbO4(H2O)] n chains along [100] that are bridged by L (4-) ligands, forming a two-dimensional coordination network parallel to (001). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecule are observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(22)O(8)S, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 81.6 (3)°. The benzene-connected portions of the alk-oxy substituents are almost coplanar with their respective rings [C-C-O-C torsion angles of 174.77 (17) and -178.5 (4)°]. One of the butanoic acid groups is disordered over two conformations with a site-occupancy ratio 0.719 (6):0.281 (6). In the crystal, pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into infinite zigzag chains along [130].

Project description:The cation of the salt, C(18)H(18)N(2)O(2) (2+)·2NO(3) (-), lies about a twofold rotation axis. The pyridinium ring is almost coplanar with the phenyl-ene ring [dihedral angle between rings = 5.69 (9)°]. In the complex, the two Mn(III) ions are bridged by two O atoms from two symmetry-related N,N'-bis-(5-bromo-salicyl-idene)-1,2-diimino-benzene dianionic ligands with the longer Mn-O distance of 2.703 (3) Å, thus each Mn ion is six-coordinated by two N and three O atoms from the two dianionic ligands and one capping Cl atom in a distorted octa-hedral environment. The crystal structure displays inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between adjacent benzene rings, with a shortest centroid-centroid distance of 3.673 (2) Å, and inter-molecular C-H⋯O, C-H⋯ Cl and C-H⋯ Br hydrogen bonds.
