ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Ni{N(CN)(2)}(2)(C(7)H(9)NO)(2)], the Ni(II) ion (site symmetry ) adopts a distorted trans-NiO(2)N(4) octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming a chain along the c axis.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], the Ni(II) cations are coordinated by four pyridine ligands and two dicyanamide anions into discrete complexes. The shortest Ni⋯Ni separation is 8.1068 (10) Å. The structure is pseudo-centrosymmetric and can also be refined in the space group C2/c in which both anionic ligands are strongly disordered and the refinement leads to significantly poorer reliability factors.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(N(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], was obtained as the first crystalline product from the reaction of Ni(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O, picolinamide and NaN(3) in aqueous media. After a few days in the mother liquor, crystals of the cis isomer transformed into the trans isomer [Đaković & Popović (2007 ▶). Acta Cryst. C63, m507-m509]. The Ni atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral environment and contains two azide ions and two planar N,O-chelating picolinamide ligands, all cis related. The dihedral angle between the two chelate rings is 82.43 (7)°. Pairs of mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into cyclic R(2) (2)(16) dimers, which are further packed into a three-dimensional framework by C(6) and C(8) chains by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C2N3)2(C9H24N4)], the Ni(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by one tris-(3-amino-prop-yl)amine (tris-apa) ligand and two dicyanamide (dca) ligands [one of them disordered in a 0.681 (19):0319 (19) ratio]. Inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the N atoms of the dca anions and the tris-apa amine H atoms result in the formation of a three-dimensional network.

The face-to-face separation of 3.561 (5) Å between parallel pyridine rings indicates the existence of weak π-π stacking between the pyridine rings. The structure also contains inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.
