ABSTRACT: Five electroactive ferrocene tags for labelling of biomolecules are contrasted with regard to conjugation reactivity with amine and thiol moieties, stability to loss of electrochemical activity, and impact of molecular structure on the redox potential of the free and DNA-conjugated forms.
