Tetra-kis(1-benzyl-1H-imidazole)dichlorido-nickel(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(10)H(10)N(2))(4)], the Ni(II) ion is located on an inversion center being coordinated by four N atoms from two pairs of symmetry-related 1-benzyl-1H-imidazole ligands and two chloride anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into layers parallel to the ab plane.
