ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cd(C(4)H(4)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), has been synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit consists of one Cd(2+) cation, one succinate anion and two aqua ligands. The Cd atoms present a distorted penta-gonal bipyramidal coordination and are bridged into layers parallel to (201) by succinate ligands.

Project description:The title compound, {[Dy(2)(C(4)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), is isostructural with other lanthanide succinates of the same formula. The Dy(III) atom is nine-coordinated in a tricapped trigonal-prismatic environment by eight O atoms, derived from six carboxyl-ate groups and a water mol-ecule. One of the independent succinate anions is located about a crystallographic inversion center and the uncoordinated water mol-ecule lies on a twofold axis. The crystal structure comprises edge-shared DyO(9) polyhedra linked by succinate bridges, forming a three-dimensional network architecture. Intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(9)H(7)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Co(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two succinate anions, two isoquinoline ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The succinate anion, located across another inversion center, bridges the Co cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b axis. The partially overlapped arrangement of parallel isoquinoline ring systems of adjacent polymeric chains and the shorter face-to-face distance of 3.402 (6) Å indicates the existence of weak π-π stacking in the crystal structure. Classical intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and weak non-classical inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [CdK(2)(NCSe)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the cadmium(II) cation is situated on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two symmetry-related μ-1,1,1,3 and two-symmetry related μ-1,1,3,3 bridging seleno-cyanate anions, all of which are Se bonded. The central Cd(II) ion is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry, coordinated by six O atoms from two carboxyl-ate groups and two water O atoms. An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Cd₂(C₄H₄O₄)(NO₃)₂(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂(H₂O)₂](n), the Cd(II) ion is seven-coordinated within a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal O₅N₂ environment. The succinate anions, located on an inversion centre, adopt a bis-monodentate bridging mode, leading to the formation of rods along [100]. The rods are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinating water mol-ecules and nitrate O atoms of adjacent rods; the same type of hydrogen bonds are also observed between water and carboxyl-ate O atoms within the rods. π-π stacking inter-actions with a minimum plane-to-plane separation of 3.462 (2) Å occur between phenanthroline ligands.
