ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(12)H(10)O(2), the aldehyde and meth-oxy groups are slightly twisted around the single bonds that join them to the naphthalene ring system. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains running along the c axis.
