ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Mn(C(6)H(4)NO(2)S)(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))] or [MnL(2)(phen)] (L = 2-mercaptonicotinate and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), the central Mn(II) atom is coordinated by two carboxylic O atoms and two thiol-ate S atoms of two L ligands and two N atoms from one phen mol-ecule, giving a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The pyridyl H atoms form strong N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the carbonyl O atoms of the adjacent mol-ecules, generating a chain structure propagating in [100].
