ABSTRACT: The main mol-ecule of the title methanol solvate, C(16)H(10)Cl(2)N(2)O·CH(3)OH, exists in the keto form and the C=O and N-H bonds are mutually cis in the crystal structure. The dihedral angle between the quinoline and benzene rings is 11.17 (3)°. A bifurcated intra-molecular N-H⋯(O,N) hydrogen bond is present as well as an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, C-H⋯O inter-actions link the 3,5-dichloro-salicyl-idene-8-amino-quinoline and methanol mol-ecules.
