Bis(pyridine-κN){N,N-[1,1'-(pyridine-2,6-di-yl)diethyl-idyne]benzene-sulfono-hydrazonato-κO,N,N',N'',O'}nickel(II).

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C(21)H(19)N(5)O(4)S(2))(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], the metal center is seven-coordinate, with an approximate penta-gonal-bipyramidal configuration. The Ni atom is chelated by a dianionic penta-dentate Schiff base via the pyridine N atom, the two azomethine N atoms and the two sulfonyl O atoms. The latter coordinate to Ni at different distances, viz. 2.3337 (12) and 2.7988 (12) Å. Two apically coordinated pyridine mol-ecules complete the seven-coordin-ate geometry. The dihedral angle between the two pyridine ring planes is 68.25 (6)°.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(5)H(6)N)[Sm(NO(3))(4)(C(23)H(17)N(5))]·C(5)H(5)N, the Sm(III) atom is ten-coordinated by the N,N',N''-tridentate bis-(pyrazole) ligand and seven O atoms from four nitrate anions (three bidentate and one monodentate). The dihedral angles between the central pyridine ring and adjacent pyrazole rings in the ligand are 1.3 (2) and 3.2 (2)°; the dihedral angles between the pyrazole rings and their pendant phenyl rings are 42.0 (3) and 16.1 (2)°. The conformation of the anionic complex ion is supported by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur. The pyridinium cation forms an N-H⋯N hydrogen bond.

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [Pb(2)(C(6)H(8)O(4))(NO(3))(2)(C(19)H(13)N(5))(2)], lies with the mid-point of the butyl chain of the bridging adipate unit on a center of inversion. The Pb(II) ion is covalently bonded to the nitrate anion and is bonded to a carboxyl-ate group of the adipate unit by another covalent bond. The N-heterocycle functions in a chelating tridentate mode. The metal atom exists in a Ψ-octa-hedral coordination environment. When weaker Pb⋯O inter-actions are also considered, the geometry is a Ψ-tricapped trigonal prism in which the lone-pair electrons occupy one face of the trigonal prism. Adjacent mol-ecules are linked into a layer structure by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The Jahn-Teller-distorted manganese(III) ions of the centrosymmetric dimer are connected through phen-oxy bridges. Hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the uncoord-in-ated C=O of the benzoate and uncoordinated water mol-ecules link the dimers into a chain running parallel to the c axis.

Project description:In the title compound, a new macrocyclic metal complex, [Ag(NO(3))(C(21)H(15)N(3)O(4))], all non-H atoms are in a close-to-planar geometry (except for the nitrate anion), with a maximum out-of-plane deviation of 0.327 (6) Å for a pyridine C atom. The dihedral angle between the least-squares plane through the [3,3'-dihy-droxy-3,3'-bis-(pyridin-3-yl)-1,1'-(pyridine-2,6-di-yl)dipropan-1-one]silver(I) fragment and the nitrate anion is 31.29 (13)°. Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(5)H(5)N)](n), the Cu(II) atom is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. Each Cu(II) atom is bound to two N atoms and one O atom of the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate (PDA) ligand in a tridentate manner, one N atom of the pyridine mol-ecule and two bridging carboxyl-ate O atoms of adjacent PDA ligands, leading to a linear one-dimensional chain running along the c axis. These chains are further assembled via weak C-H⋯O and π-π inter-actions into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network structure. The centroid-centroid distance between the π-π inter-acting pyridine rings is 3.9104 (13) Å. The two N atoms are trans to each other with respect to Cu.

Project description:The molecule of the title compound, C(22)H(28)N(2)O(2), lies across an inversion centre with one half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The mol-ecule adopts an E configuration with respect to the azomethine C=N bond and the imino group is coplanar with the aromatic ring. Within the mol-ecule, the planar units are parallel, but extend in opposite directions from the hexa-methyl-ene bridge. There are intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds between the hydroxyl groups and the oxime N atoms. There are also weak inter-molecular C-H?O bonds that link each mol-ecule to two others, forming chains along the a axis.
